Which is better? Civic 2006 or City 2006?

Its been an year since I've been using HONDA CIVIC 2006 VTI Oriel and enjoying it drive wise but the only thing that hurts me is its LOW MILEAGE which is around 7.50-8.50 km/litre.

Few of my friends are advising me to change my car to HONDA CITY which according to them is quite fuel efficient when compared to Honda Civic.

I'm confused on 2 points, I really like the elegance of this Civic model and don't really like the CITY 2006 model shape.

But when it comes to have some savings for the pocket, I tend to think that I should and must change the car.

Need honest opinions that should the change be made and what are the positives of Honda City coz its going to be difficult to change Civic as my kids really like the Sunroof option of my car.

While I understand your concern, there is no way you're going to like the 2006 city after driving a civic of the same year. Add to that the aesthetics and features that the city lacks, you'll regret it big time.
If fuel efficiency is your only concern, you should consider buying a smaller car (perhaps a vitz or any 660cc vehicle).
Unfortunately, there are no "positives" that work in Honda city's favor if you already own a civic besides a relatively better fuel average.
Furthermore, I'm sure you're aware or can foresee all the flaws and/or work that your civic requires. Buying a city that's 12 years old from an unknown person is most likely going to cost you more in terms of getting its problems fixed at the mechanic. Add that to your monthly bill and whatever you end up saving in fuel will go to the mechanic

Bottom line: kids like the sunroof. Be a nice dad and save elsewhere!

I agree with mzk786. City 2006 is no substitute for Civic 2006. Enjoy your ride & use your small savings to buy fuel

is it 7th gen or 8th as in 2006 they introduced 8th gen

the mileage you are getting is really low....should be minimum 10km/l

I have City 06, but there is no way I can suggest you to shift from Civic to Honda City because you'll definitely feel a downgrade feeling.

I get around 11 km/hr from my civic 2004 Exi... for good economy simple rule of thumb is to change gears before 2000 rpm and try to reach the highest gear quickly...be gentle in acceleration and braking ..

Not a car guru yet. But try liqui moly products. Engine oil. Ceratec. Mileage increasing oil. Mos2 and many other gear oil etc and stuff. Search liquimoly on pakwheels and find the appropriate topic to get all of your concerns covered by liquimoly products. Good luck.
