Which split AC is best to buy?

They are not only selling the AC they also got Refrigreators and other things with Kenwood names. And on my AC the logo is 100% like kenwood.

I am not saying its a good product infact I will try to avoid it in future though the 1 ton unit I got worked well enough for me.

But a company like this operating in PAK with kenwood name can not continue without some understanding with Kenwood International.

I did some more digging into into.

There are two different companies
Kenwood (Japan) makes audio and communication equipment.
Logo looks like this

They even have a page on their website which says that Kenwood limited is not a part of kenwood.

The other company is Kenwood Limited.
Logo looks like this

it is based in UK which sells Kitchen appliances. But there is no air conditioner or home appliance listed on the website.

This guy selling Kenwood air conditioner is also selling kitchen appliances on his website. So may be he has an association with Kenwood UK to sell kitchen appliances.

But what I think he is doing is that he is importing ACs from China and stamping the Kenwood logo on them. It's very obvious.

Regarding quality of air conditioners you are right. BTW Mitsubishi Mr. Slim is also being assembled in Pak by Orient. :). But Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in made in Thailand.

In Simple words. Your Normal ac to achieve 22C in a room will go full throttle to reach 22c and once it reaches the 22c marks the compressor shuts down and waits for the room temp to go above 22c to kick in again. Now the compressor turn off time is not much as in this heat it will kick back in within 5 mins.

Inverter based compressor can vary its compressor speed just so once it reaches 22cc the compressor will slow down to like half its normal speed saving electercity also maintaining better room temp.

In world over future is inverter based air conditioners here in PK they are still very expensive.

Whiteangel when I bought Kenwood I did similar research like you and i was surprised to know this kind of fake Kenwood selling in PK.

Next day I had a feeling I made a wrong choice but this chinese Unit though not very powerful did not disappoint me and worked pretty well.

just installed this heavy duty 1.5T split ac. Pulled the vacuum in line set as well. Air throw is good, but i am little bit skeptical about its cooling. Cooling is not bad but i was expecting a little more chilling air. Any one has an idea how to go about this issue?

Mitsubishi is the best, then if you get original general which costs about 88k for 1.5 ton in isb and 60k for 1.5 ton mitsubishi.

Friends... which brand split AC would you recommend to buy these days in pakistan.

My advice to all is never buy Samsung Pakistan assembled AC. I bought Samsung 1.5T around 3 years ago in Karachi by paying a premium of Rs. 10k over haier and gree and after one year its valve on the outer unit rusted, leaked and had to be replaced and now today I got to know that its piping in the inner unit has leaked and needs repair. Whereas my Gree 1T is working without any problem for last 2 years. Although i can see the fins of its outer unit getting deteriorated due to Karachi's salt laden air.

This is the 2nd season of Inverter A/Cs. The compressor starts slow and then comes to peak gradually, saving electricity. Companies are claiming 60% - 80% electricity saving on these. The prices of 1 Ton ranges from 58k-64k and for 1.5 Ton 78k-84k.

My queries are:

Which brand is best. Gree, Kenwood, Orient, Haier, etc. etc. (Chinese Brands/manufacturing).
Is it worth to have these A/Cs?

There are 3D and 4D Inverter A/Cs. How much is the difference between them.

go for haier or gree both r good.without any doubt inverter acs saves alot but chose ac size wisely.with these acs real saveing starts when they achieve set temp.

From my experience of air conditioners I have learnt that the average life of a locally assembled split ac is about 3~4 years in Karachi and about 4~5 years in inland cities. However, there can be exceptions everywhere. Window A/Cs installed in my home in Rawalpindi have been working flawlessly for almost 20 years (Sharp made in Japan). My own PEL window type A/C expired after 4 years when its compressor failed. Replaced under warranty by some used compressor by the company which failed after 2 months. Internal evaporator coil then started leaking due to corrosion. Sold it in non working state. My Haier split A/C internal evaporator coil also started leaking after 3~4 years. Sold that too. In my experience it is recommended to buy electronics which are assembled in Korea, Thailand or Malaysia. Their workmanship, material and quality is better than ours, unfortunately.

which ever brand you choose make sure the support services are available in your town, or else you will be full of regrets.

only before start of Ramzan shareef i managed to get a brand new "Fujitsu General", it is a split type floor unit 18000 BTU paid 68000 net door to door. It is a smuggled unit because the boxes have persian marking while product has german & english user manual.

paid 5000 for installation to former General work shop technicians, it is installed at a charity maternity home approx 180 km away from Karachi. 8 beds & cribs are in the hall size 12 x 20 with thermo-ceiling at 8 feet, and the cooling is awesome., working non-stop since day 1, only 30 minute stop at sunset for genset refueling.
