we have Mitsubishi slim,super national, super asia, galanz and gree. Believe me gree has some magic in it.

I have Mitsubishi Mr. Slim, Dawlance, Haier, Samsung and Sabro (old model) installed in my home.

Mr. Slim is by far the best in terms of cooling
followed by Samsung and Haier and Sabro
Dawlance is crap

^agreed dawlance is crap. I have 2 ton dikan for past 9 years and still going strong. One of them remains open 90% a day in summers.

Next best is mitsubishi slim

Mitsubishi air conditioners are indeed the best but they are quite expensive.

Why don't you go for a Samsung or a Panasonic?

All the generic ACs in Pakistan are built well, Make sure that the inner air handler is capable enough of controlling tempearture of that room, Make sure that your A/C technician vacuums the line set to a minimum of 29 inches of mercury before opening the block valves in the condensing unit. Then adjust the gas depending on the length of the lineset if in excess of 20 ft.

I am considering buying a vacuum pump and keeping it at home because you'll probably find hidden treasure in your backyard before you find an AC technician with a vacuum pump.

hmm - true these same idiots wash the condenser fins with soda ash and then wonder why the thing is oxidised to hell, well screw them and get a vacuum pump yourself, an old rotary freezer compressor also works, tell the stupid "comny ka installar" not to open the block valves unless you say so, get him to put the vacuum pump on the test port with his gauge set. If they dont want to do this, kick him out of the house then get another installer, you are in charge, its your AC, your house and your money.

Improvise and adapt to the suggestion. Aqalmand ko ishara hi kaafi hai.

Whenever you install the outer unit make sure that the unit has enough room to circulate air and there is room infront and above the unit as hot air rises. My relative (khala) in Karachi had a genius install her 8 outer units side by side at a distance of 10 inches apart inside a balcony type eavestrough thing - Those had a really hard time controlling pressure spikes and temperature. Had to redo all the systems with fresh refrigerant and additional dryers because the old one was adulterated with air by not pulling a vacuum in the linesets. The outcome was very good.

U r right.I also tried in past but no luck.they don't even know about this procedure.I'm looking to buy an inverter type AC(only available in Haier) but even their installer are not aware of this procedure.Please let me know about some details of vacuum pump (price comapany etc) or I'll request u to rent it out to me once u have it
