Will car prices go down?

Well, considering that car sales suffered a major hit last year even before this whole coronavirus situation and now that the global market has taken a hit, the world has lost trillions of dollars and the economy is in pretty bad shape. I think they will go down by about 20%.
What do you guys think?

What makes you think that the prices will go down?

I think otherwise.

I think they will go down by about 20%.

This is Pakistan, and universal / worldwide laws and logic do not apply here.

Here, car assemblers increase prices, when sales are low, so as to increase their profit margins. In rest of the muhazzib world, showrooms give discounts to increase car sales and profits.

Prices are expected to go up, due to this Pandemic, slowing economy, USD Going up, etc. (akhir companies ney apna nuksa'an b to pura karna hai, aur unho ney ye nuksa'an cheezain mehangi kar k hi pura karna hai).

Bro they already did that, I mean increased their prices to compensate for the loss of sales. What will they do now? Aur increase to nae karskte na. Awam ke pass paisa he nae hoga to khareedega kon. The rules of the world will apply specially now. If they don't then they probably will go bankrupt. I've read that Honda shutdown their plant for 15 days, or was it 20 days? This was before all this, what will you think will happen next?
Also, I'd like to point out that in the month of March, the car sales must be at its lowest point. Factor in all these and I think the car prices have to come down, even taking the dollar into account.

Corolla all variants are plenty in stock to meet demand only after crisis slow down coming to end by Sept 2020

They have did in the past, and they will do it in the future, and trust me, some people are there, who will still buy them, despite high price tags.

What about used cars?

Might come slightly down. For used cars, its a different thing, but let's not discuss it, as it may be considered derailment from the topic. Let's focus on new cars only.

Well I think new car prices will increase but used cars will definitely come down.
The 20% decrease I mentioned was for used cars. That's not derailment of topic the car prices discussion is for both new and used cars.

Well I think it's just crazy that car companies will risk bankruptcy or will lay off employees instead of cutting down on profits. I mean kitna mazay aye if Toyota be like flat 50% off on Corollas.
P.S. just a thought, anyone have an idea ke car companies ka usual margin kitna hai?

Well I'm with you on the unchanged new cars part. Maybe increase a bit. Used cars on the other hand is a different ballgame. All of the assumptions we're making are based on previous trends that since the dollar has always increased all the prices have increased. However, the current situation is unlike we've ever seen before because unlike previous trends its not just Pakistan that's suffering and even if the dollar is high, the inflation in US will definitely increase and their economy is in recession.
Like I said before the global wealth has suffered serious damages and since it is a cycle so it will comeback to the masses. The sellers won't be able to sell their cars on their desired prices because again 'awam ke pass paisa he nae hoga'.

What about used cars?

used cars market is filled with filth.
they work directly proportional to the new car prices.
I have least hope with the used car dealers or market .. they will keep exploiting the consumers with regard to new cars prices !

That is true. All those showrooms exploited and took advantage of the boom. Importing accidental cars and passing them of as perfect. Ab unhain rona nae chiaye jab unki cars sale nae hun.
