Xbox 360 pal or ntfs?

hey guyz, first i was confused in rrod problem but i think its 100% safe cuz Jasper got little chip and no one have got rrod i have searched google but everyones xbox 360 jasper is working fine so now i am little confuse between PAL & NTFS :s i have checked the market and New Xbox-360 Jasper Arcade Pal is selling for 20k wherever Xbox 360 arcade jasper NTFS is selling for 30k i asked the shop keeper that why that huge money difference between these but he said there are very less games which works in PAL and in NTFS Almost every game works thats why there is price difference ..

and i have saw people buying only PAL here in pakwheels so i wanna ask is that true that there are less games and NTFS Games will not work in xbox 360 Pal ...

and yeah they are already modified ones.

First of all, its NOT NTFS! Its NTSC. NTFS is the new Filesystem of XP and has nothing to do with xbox. Secondly, where did you get such prices? The prices here are 26k for Pal and 27k for NTSC. Cant be a difference of 10000 between them. As for PAL, most games are region free so there isnt much problem of compatibility.

arslan4u: oh sorry for the mistake i meant ntsc and is that safe to go for PAL Version or i will regret it?? and can u list some games that are compatible only with Pal & Ntsc ?

i would have bought a Ps3 SLIM but i cant afford its games as they are original their prices are too much and i get bored playing same game for few days, i keep on playing different games.. and here Xbox 360 Pirated games are costing Rs.120 and its fine and do u know any site that tells which games are region free? and do u have got xbox 360?

as long as u have these both versions in ur tv nd it can switch it automatically then u hav no issues

@mystique...how r u mate! first of all games on xbox 360 are region free...n since ur in pakistan id recommend u go for pal version..i dont understand the logic of why ntsc version is so expensive compared to pal..i feel it shud have been the other way round...neways buy pal with confidence, no need to go for ntsc version. Lastly the only issue is for dvd movies thts it no other difference b.w the 2 version! the only logical reason i cud understand why ntsc is expensive is due to higher devaluation of rupee against us dollar as compared to euro or pound! cheers

sub7er: Am fine buddy hope u r also doing well but buddy i have asked the shopkeeper he said in PAL version very less games are produced and its not worth it and he is suggesting to go for NTSC i think he is saying that because he will earn more profit in selling Xbox 360 NTSC version cuz its 10k higher than pal version :s thats Crazily huge money difference :s ! and yeah i dont watch movies in gaming console i have a separate Dvd player for that purpose & i was thinking for upgrading my computer instead of buying xbox 360 but still i think its not worth it as new games will keep coming and ask more & more Graphics memory and higher ram... & yeah thanks for encouraging me

i would like to add something....

i have xbox 360 elite for sale..box packed SEALED....it is PAL...

i wanted to sell it but shop people were like its PAL and most of the games work on NTSC.....i was like damm i made a mistake ....
anyuways
i went to another shop. and asked him do u have pals game and they were like nope but we will charge u 100rs more than normal xbox game for pal version...i was like np :))...

anyways according to market 70% games are on ntsc and 30% on pal....

secondly... Xbox arcade is available in market....they dont have elite i dont know why.....

some shops have xbox PRO.... as far as xbox.com is concerened its obselete.....
do buy whats in market....

anyways mine is brand new and its for good price...

minimotors: Thats exactly what i am saying.. like if i buy xbox 360 pal and then go to buy cd and suppose need for speed shift is available in only NTSC version so will it work in my Xbox 360 PAL Version? i am asking this because Pal Version Games are really hard to find in my city.

u get decent interenet speed in pakistan now,buy rapidshare and megashare accounts and download them and burn em off ur computer.

@mystique...mate i am working for microsoft australia, xbox 360 service division, if i dont know the product we are selling then i dont think im fit to work where i am at the moment. ALL XBOX 360 games are region free, shoopkeepers in pakistan are creating everything up, u can run an NTSC game on an xbox 360 PAL. GOT IT! as far as flashing ur firmware is concenerned i wudnt say much abt it, or else ill be breaching my employment terms. cheers!

As far as i know there are three major regions for XBOX 360 console

NTSC/U

NTSC/J

PAL

The most rare of these regions is NTSC/U as far as we are concerned, MOST of the games available ARE region free but than there are few exceptions.

@Sub7er i don't know what they are teaching you at microsoft but it's hilariously wrong, only ps3 games are region free but ps3 is region locked for bluray movies, xbox 360 has always been region locked and its upto devloper/publisher to release games region specific or region free, one prime example is this release of Forze 3

Coming back to the topic, if you download games and burn them yourself than 95% of the times it doesn't matter which console you have go for the cheapest, most of the titles locally available are NTSC/J or region free and thus shop keepers often fool you by saying "Sir this console is region free"

@baqai...microsoft has officially announced tht maority of games will be region free...u dont have to take ma word just google it. i was expecting someone like u to make this thread more complicated for the final consumer to decide b.w different regions of xbox 360. First of all regions have been preconfigred in the eeprom of the xbox 360, so that is more related to the mobo/hardware of the xbox 360. If u do a lil google on chihiro ull understand xactly wat i mean , in simple words some one out there has already found a loop hole in our system which allows one to convert any xbox 360 pal into NTSC or vice versa. I dont wanna get into the technical aspect of this, but i can assure u all PAL games will work on xbox 360 NTSC. Yes microsoft does not market its games as being region free, but the way the architect has been defined in the 360's motherboard...makes it region free. Hope this clears out everything.

If he ends up buying a NTSC/U console he would not be able to play a region locked PAL game on that console, For our market the safest bet is PAL than NTSC/J, if you download than anyone would do.

People often mix NTSC/U and NTSC/J and they end up in problem because their NTSC/U would not be able to play the titles availabe in the local market.
