XLI AC pipes insulation for better cooling

Today while AC of my car was on i touched the pipe highlighted in the pic was extreme coool, sooo i thought that alot of cooling wil be wasting because of engine hotness, so want suggestion from you guys that if i insulate properly that pipe just to resist engine hotness and maintain its coolness as this pipe is made up of aluminum which quickly gain temperature. I have in my mind to insulate the pipe with a foam type pipe dont know exact name of that material, that material is also used in home split ac pipes insulation, What u guys suggest would it help in more coolness?

in Alto , I found that foam type thing is insulated in some of piece of pipe.. Xulfiqar bhai Please give some good advice..

second point : this pipe is too cold , and some drops of water produces due to evaporation , i think..

Yes, in my point of view insulating would help alot, but im wonder why manufacturers left thse pipes bare.... experts come one and do comment....

i think its return line which is low pressure(cold) and coming from evaporater as compressor compress gas its become hot so u don't touch hot side.so nothing happened by insulated that thing

No these pipes are extreme cool, i my self today checked them,

That is the vapor line aka compressor suction line and will be very cold due to refrigerant evaporation, Insulating it provides only a 5% ease to the compressor as it helps cool it down.. Insulating it will help but not in a measureable way.

aluminium tape and foam. Both available at your local friendly A/C parts shop.

oh... thats one brilliant idea yaar! the low pressure line is EXTREMELY cold to touch when the AC is on...! Insulation must help a lot in the working of AC in our environment, cz its around 45 freakin degrees Celsius in my city... :o

i always keep my cars ac low side pipes fully insulated,,,,,,,,,,,,,the difference i feel is that almost half of of compressor body (mostelly near to low side pipe) keep cool,,,,,,,,,,,,,without insulation its hot ,,,,,,,,,,,,it cools the compressor which inturns improve the overall system performance,,,,,,,,,,,,,

If you look at orifice tube systems like american cars have, they need the insulation right after the orifice tube in the liquid line. I have noted that in TXV systems the suction line insulation does not help as much.
