XLi/GLi discontinued by Toyota

My dealer just confirmed that Toyota has officially discontinued all 1.3 brands from July onwards.

They are bringing in VIOS or some other 1.5 car.

The own of 1.3 GLI has raised to 3 lacs just after this news.

New 1.5 version might hit resale of 1.6, since it will have better powerpack fancy features. The guy says the final news about what's coming will be decided by June maybe.

Booking might be opening soon. But discontinue means they won't book it, when booking opens.

I anticipate it to be 1.3.
They are discontinuing 1.3 Gli Xli Corolla for which the alternate is Vios to break City.

The problem is, 1.3 is wiping out worldwide. Honda also discontinued (or will do soon) 1.3, in favor 1.5.

I thought Toyota will eventually phase out 1.3 Corolla & continue till the end of 11th gen.

Vios be it 1.3 or 1.5 can never hit resale of any Corolla variant because its a smaller car. It competes with city.

A courageous move I would say by Indus because by discountinuing their hot selling item they have come in direct competition with Honda city with Vios.

1.3 Corolla as of now does not have any competition directly due to lack of 1.3L car in Compact sedan category by other automakers.

Pricing of Vios will decide its fate and market share. If its priced above city I dont think IMC will be enjoying the same market share in 1.3L segment again.

I forsee exhorbiitant premiums and abundant booking orders on Honda city.

Well, firstly it's still unconfirmed news, and we are looking to get the truth. Secondly, since when do PK organizations work sensibly? They just drop the bomb... No such thing as gradual phasing out

For 1300 category, Toyota will bring in hatchback Yaris. Vitz is already dominating that category market. They will cover 1500 via Vios.
