Further sharing my experience with lose and tight tappets on YB 125z.
Tight tappets make engine over heat and consumes more petrol like if we set to 0.08 and 0.10 for intake and exhuast as usually most of the Allah Ditta mechanics follow these settings just because of Honda CG 125 have similar tappet settings but after a lot of research and expert opinion I have reached out to a conclusion that newer engine should run with quite lose tappets otherwise yamaha should sell it with tight tappets but I personally experienced that after first 1500 km I had too much tappet noise coming below tank which was fixed by new sharif autos in first tuning.
Lose tappets like 0.10-0.11 for intake and 0.12-0.13 for exhuast are not making engine overheat and also giving a better mileage. I just had another test for top speed and I touched 110 and remain constant at 5km patch. I need to test it on a long ride to evaluate either it crosses 110 or just get stuck there.
I didn't try to adjust carb settings since it's been adjusted by yamaha guy. It might be possible that after adjusting carb at a certain point I get more speed but currently it's giving perfect fuel average and to do that settings I need special screw driver which I didn't get yet. I am thinking to get it from yamaha guy tomorrow. I just test by filling 2.25 litre V power petrol in already half tank by shell which is more powerful for bigger engines but it was also a useless attempt as I didn't see any change in top speed or engine sound but one thing is for sure that shell engine oil AX3 20w-50 is better than culprit Yamalube and gear shifting became slightly better than before.
