I think it would be a wise move to introduce 1.0 ltr turbo. It'll be cheaper to produce than the current model because of the smaller engine size and taxes on it.

I imagine non-oriel manual 1.0 ltr turbo starting at 18 lacs. I imagine just one life time token. I imagine fuel efficiency of 12-13 KM/L in the city. The difference of 14 HP won't make a difference compared to current gen because of lesser weight, more torque and cvt in the new gen. New gen 1.0 ltr turbo civic would perform similar to current model.

I imagine oriel with 1.5 ltr turbo. I imagine the prices similar to current oriel prices.

Forget it bro, such thing can only be an imagination, doing so will mean no exclusivity for Civic owners and death of an already ill Honda City. Giving a Civic for 18 will bring into the same useless Toyota philosophy XLi and Altis in same shape. This exclusivity is the exact reason why Civic EXi kind of trim was eliminated. Civic was taken a notch above the standard GLi-EXi category. A car worth 18 and 28 are not supposed to be same. On a bigger picture Honda has a wider horizon compared to just market figures alone. Imagine MetroCab, Radio Cab and Gujjar rent a car in white parallel to your private car on a signal. How often do you see Civics stopped at a NAAKKA? It's mostly the other brand. Even our illiterate chillars know the difference.

Look at the first image again and notice starting price and the price of the top model, and count the number of models. It's about time we get some variety/options to choose from.

But with limited options in Pakistan yet Atlas will not opt for such perspective. US region does not have City thus they can do such a thing.

Guys what if Honda plans to (this is my gut feeling) give us a slightly different shape because they have always been doing that. Global platform could be something like deriving civics for different parts of the world on this 'global platform' maybe they were referring to euro models. We always had civic on the same platform as of USDM but with different options and design (in 9th gen they gave us a different transmission too). We will have to wait for Honda Thai to come up with something because that will be the model given us in Pakistan.
Lets hope they don't go old school style this time.

p.s well by the way the 8th gen we got was better than what was offered as USDM so changes were good for us but this CIVIC X is a real civic, I don't want this to be messed up.

Sir I agree to you that this will never happen.

If Honda Atlas does that they will lose its place in our so called locally manufactured executive cars' segment. This is what Indus Motors had done to themselves when they decided to carry on Corolla with 1.3L engine instead of introducing Toyota Vitz/Yaris Sedan Version while Corolla was meant to be driven by 1.6L, 1.8L and 2.0L engines. If back then Indus Motors had decided to launch Toyota Vitz/Yaris Sedan Version for 1.3L and 1.5L and reserved Corolla for 1.6L and 1.8L segment they would have fought "Taxi Label" and could have offered better options to a large population, which would have definitely sparked the real competition between Atlas and Indus which in return would have also favoured us in the end (better quality and options). Now Corolla and Civic are marketed to different markets, although they came up with a Grande Variant but their success is not because they offered a good model it's because Civic offered a low model. The irony is that these two Manufacturers are great Successful Business Groups worldwide but in our country they even forget the basic business and marketing strategies.

For 1.0L segment (the most popular segment) I don't understand how long will Indus and Atlas Motors take to realise that they have to offer locally manufactured Honda Fit/Jazz and Toyota Vitz/Yaris so that the quality of cars manufactured in Pakistan is raised significantly.
