I read few threads on PW, as you suggested, will go with Caltex Havoline when I hit the 1000KM mark next week. Thanks

Don't get fooled by terms like synthetic technology, synthesis technology, synthoil bla bla unless FULLY SYNTHETIC is written on it. They are all mineral or semi synthetic.
If you check same liquimoly on amazon you will find fully synthetic 5w30 liquimoly and if you compare it with the one in pakistan it will not be carrying this straight forward fully synthetic written but different terms to confuse gullible customers making them believe that this is fully synthetic.
I have called the lm pakistan importer and asked him to import the fully synthetic oils but he said k us mein itna marjin nahi hai.

sir i would recommend Shell, Havoline, PSO Carient, chbby shummy imported names are faked very smartly in our country.

If there are paid driver(s) responsible for maintenance of your vehicle(s) please make sure you trust your mechanic for such maintenance instead of driver(s).

Caltex havoline is good but make sure you purchase from authorised dealers or reputed oil shops only. I have used LM as well but its more of a hype and heavy on pocket. As mentioned earlier much better and cost effective options are available.

sir @ozztribune you hold onto that as mystery workshop whereas some people have open heartedly shared there work. Good to know you are happy with your choice of workshop and decision to rebuild the engine. Now you can use the vehicle with timely maintenance and care for very long.

see the thread below, the owner went to the workshop over my suggestion and he is happy. more or less mr. irshad ahmed have same approach for every customer

Vehicle odo meter now is 268000 kms it is 2008 model Grade A, purchased / registered in PK Jan 2012. in germany only group 4 and 5 base oils are called synthetic, the liqui moly products we get in pak have same germany packaging so synthoil is fully synthetic group 4 PAO, rest are teilsynthetische or semi synthetic a mix of group 1,2,3 and 4. synthetic technology is hydrocracked group 3.

when you look at amazon etc most oils will be synthetic as usa does not require oil to be group 4 PAO or group 5 ester.

Its just a hassle to go after a specific product especially with supply chain issues.
I will go with Caltex this time.

If supply chain is your concern, buy shell oils, they are better in terms of quality and price as compared to havoline's current product portfolio. Shell has better supply chain. some products of havoline are at times not available atleast in islamabad

In my opinion you are good to go with any locally available engine oil (Total, Shell, Caltex, PSO, Zic etc.) if you find original / genuine product.
