awaam doesnt care how an engine works, as long as its spinning and moving their asses. In my personal experience Ive poured 20W50 in toyota VVT engines and you could actually start counting seconds when the VVT pulley started advancing - it literally was like being stuck in a slo-mo video.
The engines sounded like rocks too at fast idle.
while with the factory recommended 5w30 or 5w20 - you get a proper sounding, running, cooled engine and the VVT advance is seamless and instant too.
most awaam dont know what volume and pressure are - and proceed to comment on "ye wala aail saalid hai".
