Having a old LC as a daily driver is never advised, they are rugged jeeps no doubt, but if used as a jeep like going off road once in a while or going to up north from south. Have you calculated amount invested in this jeep and time you have spent repairing it vs how much you have driven it.

just go back to them, make them take these tyres back, sell it back for slightly less, but recover 7-80% of the amount....

I went to buy bike tyres last year, near lahore railway station. The guy claimed to have German tyres, they looked good, but sidewalls were scraped with a blade.

I talked with a good friend on phone, who advised me to recheck, k choona naa lag ra ho.

Sure enough, i spotted half cut star of servis logo.

Then i searched the name "cruiser" on google and lou gi, it was servis tyre, made in pakistan, and it was a B grade tyre, which is rejected from factory.

The conclusion is, everyone out there, wants to skin you alive

take some friends with you, this is not a case of you, changing your mind. This is a case of fraud, you were told that these are 2018 tyres, which are in reality 2010 tyres...

whats eyecatching? - the white lettering?

its an old cruiser - I dont see anything eyecatching other than the snorkel (which I always appreciate) - and I go a step more and raise all breather vents of (tank, evap, diffs and transmission too.

Though keeping it was my childhood dream. But i never thought this jeep could be so money eating !!! 🥺

when you want to keep on old vehicle - you have to be its mechanic yourself. if you are planning to be a "wallet holder" then prepare to pay big amounts. Its always been like that for any brand of vehicle.

And this is a Toyota Land Cruiser - the only SUV in the world more expensive to own than any luxury car out there.

count me out - Ive posted intel on this thread over and again - only to be ignored and then the OP has claimed he needs to be spoon fed information, while complaining of "being humble". - Sorry.. That doesnt work with my minds firmware.

and I dont see one reply where information was transferred the other way round.

e.g. @capsat @margallar @syncview @babarhyd @bhashmi11 @Naweed and a ton of other members here including myself bring information to the table to discuss and solve and chip in our intel piece by piece to get solutions and answers to problems and issues (social, civil, technical etc. etc.)

Sir ji, talking of breather vents, what is the construction of breather plugs? I mean, i drive a lot in North and usually water levels are sometimes high enough to cover half the engine. Osama also told me to bring up all these pipes up into engine area. But i thought water cant ingress from these... i may be wrong... Whats ur say?

These are all rubber hoses, nothing special. If you ford water a lot then its very wise to raise all the breather hoses above the level of the water you will encounter.

Osama knows how to do this, He's done it on dozens of vehicles.

These breathers from the factory do not contain one way valves, at best toyota route the transmission breather to the dipstick tube which sits above engine level anyway - the diff breathers are still at diff level. They will ingest water if water gets above them.

same case when every other car out there drives through the deluges in Karachi monsoon - the transmissions get water in them while the mehran doesnt. Its breather it at front shock tower level.

Oki poki. Will get these gone.
Rear side has 2 breather hoses, 1 from diff, 2nd from e-locker diff motor. Shall both be combined to bring them all the way to the front engine bay or both pipes shud separately be brought?

both are air vents only - they can be combined - but the total volume of the now "common" hose should be the sum of both items original breather hoses.

you can do what MB or LR do when they deliver the NATO or mil spec vehicles - the breather vents rise through the interior to the very top of the vehicle to a strange looking manifold. I saw it on some mil spec G wagens - the ones whose interiors can be pressurewashed.

sir i also raised a query with hamza younis through some contact who knew their dad. No response yet.

However Mehran Autos (Toyota 1S saddar RWP) told me that part can be arranged at 41K Rs.

I inquired for qabli part through a local diesel mechanic (Ustad actually) and he said that its not readily available as a part and needs to be searched through scrap. Once found will cost 6-7K Rs.

Its an ancient engine now and 99% of used ones will be useless. Buy a new one and get over with it. Same thing exists in other brands like mercedes benz but they are cheaper than this.

41K is about right, its global catalog price is 260 USD.

I am not very old or experienced by any means. But i learned one good thing in last five years. The thing is, either use the best parts and best procedures or else leave it.

You will waste your time, time is more valuable than any amount of money.

thats what diesel ustad told me that even if we find qabli replacement its highly likely that it will be faulty too. so if u r sure that car is not reducing oil and oil level is actually ok, this sensor can be by passed easily and check light will go away.

i just shared what i was told, even though i dont agree to it. so please no scolding for me or tintin on this
