Yar after I gave up on the car detailing project (reasons mentioned when I decided to do so) - uske baad there wasn't many stories to be told. Even though I did "give up", I never actually did. I gave it up for a wash at Toyota during periodic maintenance hoping that would make me stop washing it at home but it never did.

I don't do the full routine now but I'm sure washing it kind of roughly at home is still better than the normal pumps.

I do plan to get it washed a bit thoroughly from an Auto Spa but there aren't many good ones in Faisalabad. Ahmad Yar at Luxe Auto Spa is the only one I trust with my car.

But I'll oblige with your request and try to keep the thread alive in one way or another. Thank you so much for following it and for the feedback

It has been quite a while since I posted here. That's because I got busy and I didn't really add anything new to the car or do anything new with it to share the experience. But recently I did make some changes and I thought it'd be great to share the experience and feedback.

So I wanted to test the difference a new pair of tyres would add to my car in terms of Ride Comfort & Noise for the most part. I have driven my Grande for 2 years now and the Yokohama A460 were getting noisy and bumpy. So I started looking around and had a lot of recommendations but the finalists were Yokohama AdvanDB v552 & Continental UC6. I asked around a lot of people and decided to go with the AdvanDB.

Since then I've driven the car around a 1000KMs once LHR-FSD and mostly within City in Faisalabad on the bumpy roads and rough patches of under-construction roads. And the difference has been day and night.

The ride is more silent. More comfortable (soft, less bumpy) & as an added bonus, the steering is Softer now. I used to inflate the tyres at 34PSI before and the steering was harder than the new tyres at 31PSI. I'd highly recommend these tyres to anyone who has trouble with noise on highways or wants a smoother in-city ride.

I'll update the tyres' long term review in a while as I get more experience OR if my opinion changes in either good or bad way and I feel like the above review has to be updated

Good decision. UC6 would also have been good but this will serve you well too. It is a great tire if you understand its limitations.
I have used it in my city for around 40K km and my advice will be to keep the pressures on the higher side. Maybe around 33 would be good balance between comfort, grip and stability. Lower pressures mean more chances of sidewall damage in the Advan dB. 3 out of 4 tires on my city faced this, albeit with careless driving from my driver too (driving carelessly over potholes and cat eyes). Tires were bought directly from Sheikh Bros so no chance of damage during transport and storage etc. They had to be changed with CC6 at 40K for this reason. Same car, same driver and Continental CC6, haven’t faced any such issues and the tires have done 40K+ km and still going strong Alhamdulillah.
I went for Michelin Primacy 4 in my Grande FL, which were very difficult to procure, got help from a fellow PW here. They have done 2-3K km until now and are superb in terms of grip and road noise. Very balanced. I’m keeping pressures at 33 in this as well.

Dude u choose a gud tyre but very short lived tyre but congrats it's a status tyre. However 205/60 r16 on high speeds above 120km/hr would vobble and vibrate in handle. In addition it's road grip /cornering will be lessen as it's area of contact/section width with road becomes less than 205/55

I did consider the UC6 but since it's all smuggled and I was confused for quite a long while among the two, I just decided to go with the Safer option that most people recommended.

These are 205/60/R16 - these are 60 instead of 55 so only the sidewall profile is slightly higher.

Isn't the part that comes in contact with the road 205? The 60 vs 55 is supposed to be the height of the sidewall.

Anyway I don't usually go higher than 120 on motorway and on my one travel on the motorway the car was fully loaded so didn't really get the chance to observe the tyre performance. These were quiter for sure though.

Section width change with side wall ratio. Grip will be ok if u don go high rives. Anyhow enjoy the ride . Ur love for grande is chivalrous.

Thank You. And yes I didn't know about the advanced details like section width/sidewall ratio. Since this car is mostly used very carefully, I guess it won't be a problem. But if it turns out to cause any problem, I'd definitely share it here with others

It's a net increase of 3.2 percent which is a LOT. better upgrade is 215 55 bro which is a net increase of 1.6 percent. Anything over 3 percent is harmful for the car and gives incorrect readings

Increase in sidewall height reduces stability of car at high speed . Car gives feel of floating

Hmmmm I had the same floaty feeling with A460 at speeds higher than 120. I don't go beyond that but will have to test that stability when I'm on motorway next time.

I never felt yokoA460 deficient in handling n grip even till 180 km/hr n even on sharp cornering n cuts except noise.
In handling a great tyre.

Toyota itself says that the stock A460 is a very average tyre and is prone to getting reshaped. A guy in Toyota known to me since 15 years categorically told me to change the tyres on day one after I get my car

International ratings of this tyre are gud n not bad. However lesser air pressure is intense and rapid deterioration of this tyre.
