2022 is about to end, and it has been an eventful year! The Pakistani auto industry saw several ups and downs, petrol prices shot up and came down, and several new cars were launched. Let’s take a look at all the cars that Pakistan welcomed in 2022.
Peugeot 2008
2022 started with a bang with the soft launch of
Peugeot 2008. Lucky Motors launched two variants in Pakistan, Peugeot 2008 Active and Peugeot 2008 Allure. Both the cars were received warmly by the market and the price drop during the year also made it a favorable option.

Suzuki Swift 2022
One of the early cars to be launched in Pakistan was the new
Suzuki Swift 2022. The car was launched in three variants, i.e. GL (Manual), GL (CVT), and GLX (CVT). It was a much-anticipated car of this year since Pak Suzuki announced its potential launch in 2021.

Hyundai Staria
Hyundai Staria made its debut in February 2023. It came in four different variants with several different features. The unique looks of the vehicle attracted the attention of the masses, and it was received with enthusiasm. The four variants are Hyundai Staria 3.5 A/T, Hyundai Staria 2.2D M/T, Hyundai Staria 2.2D A/T, and Hyundai Staria HGS.

Honda Civic
The most anticipated car of 2022 was the
Honda Civic 2022. The car came in three variants to Pakistan - RS CVT, Oriel CVT, and Standard CVT. This beauty has been reigning in the market since its launch. It has been declared the safest car yet, as it scored 5/5 in the Euro NCAP crash test.

Hyundai Elantra GL
In April 2022, Hyundai came out with its new variant of Elantra -
Hyundai Elantra 1.6 GL. the car entered a competitive market, challenging the likes of base variants of C-segment sedans such as 1.6L Corolla, 1.5L Civic Standard, and 1.5L Civic Oriel, as well as top variants of B-segment sedans, 1.5L Yaris CVT and 1.5L Aspire City.

Rinco Aria
In the first quarter of 2022 came Rinco Aria - Pakistan’s cheapest Electric Vehicle. The car was imported by Nayyar Motors as an entry-level hatchback, and currently, they are only selling CBUs. This affordable variant in electric vehicles was a breath of fresh air in the market and provided a new option for consumers.

Changan Oshan X7
This crossover SUV came with a bang in the first quarter of this year! The
Oshan X7, a feature-rich model, came in two variants - Oshan X7 Comfort and Oshan X7 FutureSense. After the success of changan alsvin. People had high expectations from this new model, and it did not disappoint!

Chery Tiggo 4 pro & 8 pro
These five and seven-seater crossover SUVs were launched on March 25, 2022. The cars entered a highly competitive market but performed well throughout the year.

Suzuki Alto VXR AGS
In September of 2022, Suzuki Pakistan introduced the new
Alto VXR. this new variant came with Auto Gear Shift (AGS) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). the new features were introduced to provide a “comfortable and convenient drive experience.” Although Alto is the most beloved car of Pak Suzuki, it has been recalled 3 times due to various faults.

Honda HR-V
In October 2022, Honda came out with its second car this year -
Honda HR-V. The new HR-V came in two variants, VTi and VTi S. It was one of the most highly anticipated cars of the year. It also came with the exciting news that the hybrid HR-V will be launched in Pakistan next year, most probably in the 3rd or 4th quarter.

In the last quarter of 2022 came Pakistan’s first locally assembled hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) -
Haval H6 HEV! The car was packed with features and was hailed by the customers.
