In fact, Pyramids are not built on the lower-ground, the site was smartly-slected.. its a hi-ground at the junction of Sahara Desert n Western-part of the Cairo city...

lets climb-up few steps.. :P

I was amazed to know that the smallest stone used in Pyramids is 1 Ton n the heaviest single piece of stone discovered is of 30 Tons...

my told me his name, but I forgot

the entrance of his tomb is covered with his poetry...its the old Symbolic Encrypted language of Pharaohs...

there are 3 poems written on his tomb, one of them is for a his girl friend who got married to some hi-priest n he mentioned the agony of his love n effection for her n wished tht when he WAKE-UP again in his next-life he should meet her...

following is the chamber where his statue was fixed.. the statue is moved to Cairo museum now...

after this go-round trip, I got the ticket to go inside the Pyramid. I started to descent into the Pyramid with mixed feelings of excitment n fear...its dazzling.. you'll be stunn to see tht how they design n built it almost 3500 years ago......

first u go down upto 100 meters, then walk straight to the same distance n thn climb-up again to reach to the main chember where Pharaoh's Mummy was found in 1818 by some Italian archiologist....

its a huge hall.. well designed, once u r there, u wont feel suffocation or restrain because the ventilation is very good...an amazing master-piece of an architecture...

I had a short snap of 15 to 20 minutes inside the Stone-Coffin of Pharaoh :P:P:P... its huge, almost 8 feet long, 4 feat deep n 4 to 5 fee wide...

when I rose-up, I heard the screams of kids n few ladies :D:D:D... tourists from Spain n they though maybe Mummy of Pharaoh is alive

photos, videos are not allowed inside the Pyramid.. but I managed to take these two pictures.. obviously, I had to power-on the flash.. so caught by security :P:P:P n they snatched my camera :(:(:( I got it back once came out of the Pyramid...

in fact, the tunnel or pathway inside the Pyramid that takes u to the different chambers is just a size of a Coffin... a child can hardly walk straight through it.. u hve to kneel-
down move like sitting on the floor..

n each Pyramid has multiple levels n chembers connected to each others.. still the archeologists r not sure tht how many secret chambers r inside each pyramid... but to keep it safe n from the fear of damage, the exploration or digging is very slow..

now lets go to the Sphinx Temple... Im sure u'll enjoy the sights on the way before u reach there... :)

the ruins of some old temple... acording to my guide, this temple was built for labors. Specially for those who get hurt or wonded during the construction so hi-priests pray for them n cure them n provide thm some medicine...

if he died, thn they offer the final-prayers before his burriel..

following excavation was right under the stage where I was standing. I dont know how deep was it but I could see either small chembers or a path to other chamber on its left n right...

a group of archeologist in search of some new discoveries..

another excavation, but my guide is warning me to hide the camera otherwise tourist police will snatch it n I would hve to pay a HUGE fine, maybe 2000 to 3000 US$...

so I decided to stop snapping n hide it, but after this picture :D:D:D

the door n lobby leads u to the prayers room...

before u enter in
to the prayers room, u hve to pay the Sphinx :P

the small digging was for that purpose, throw some money, jewlery, cloth or food stuff in it n then enter into the prayer room to get the blessings of the Sphinx...

u can see some foreign currency.. tourists still throwing the money.. I tried but couldnt reach... warna kuch kharcha paani nikal aata :D:D:D

the entrance tht Im standing in would take u to the pavement that directly ascends towards the middle-Pyaramid n u would have to pass-by the Sphinx... all Mummies of the Pharaohs n their families were taken through this way...

u would hve to pay 175LE to go inside the 1st big Pyramid, 30LE for 2nd Pyramid n 20LE for 3rd Pyramid.. while the small 6 Pyramids are not open for public...

Who is Sphinx or Abu'l Hawl????

The Sphinx was built by Pharaoh Akhanaten (the king from 18th Dinesty of Egypt). He gave it his own face, the face of the Sphinx is actually the real face of King Akhanaten. The hair of the Sphinx are of his Queen, the dazzling Queen Nefertiti and a body of Lion.

According to their belief, the Sphinx was a guardian of the City of the Dead Kings where all Pyramids are built (which is now know as The Pyramids Park). In those ancient time, there was only way to enter into the valley, which was through the temple of the Sphinx and people used to pay (as shown in the previous pictures) to the Sphinx and then walked into this City of the Dead Kings...

When Nepolean conquered Egypt, he broke Sphinx Eyes, Nose n Mouth, people say that the Sphinx Eyes, Nose n Mouth were made of some precious stones n had gold in it...

The nose n lips or the sphinx are in London Museum, Egyptology Section..
