Automatic Gear Overheated and Brokedown

Today my car's Autogear started to slip in 4th gear when I was on khi-hyd motorway somehow I returned home in D3 . Now its shifting harshly and no response in 4th gear. Now I have decided to replace it. PW's please guide how to find compatible gear??? and where to find

Since this is a conventional automatic and that too of a common model, why not get it repaired with genuine parts? Replacement will probably not be as reliable as you won't know what issues will be there in it already.
I think select a good repair shop depending on your city and go for the fix. Some forum experts may correct me regarding repair expertise available from this transmission so tagging them here @capsat @autophile @Xulfiqar

Well there are two options,
The first and more expensive one is going to the dealer and getting it replaced with a new one

The second option is getting the automatic transmission from Shershah and replacing it with that.

If it were a manual transmission it would be much easier to just repair it, even if you do consider repairing it I wouldn't consider it reliable. In the case of repairing you would really need someone who is skilled enough in doing so and doesn't scam you like many ustaads do nowadays .

Can you share the reason as to why it overheated and broke down? Which car is this and how many km on the odo?

The gear was already replaced by previous owner and was of different model due to which it was not engaging TCC clutch and getting overheated. I have discussed this in 4-5 threads .

@mohsin-212 sir only few days ago i read thread quoted below and the member got the gear box fixed from the workshop with guarantee. .

i also took my work colleague Nissan sunny model 2005 to usman sb on Thursday and he will return the car on tuesday by 6 pm evening. if you visit before tuesday you can see the maroon nissan parked at the workshop.

Help needed for Corolla Se Saloon 2002 Automatic gear issue

I recently bought corolla se saloon automatic with a mileage of around 116,000KM. But i am facing a unique gear problem regarding this car, i.e. when i start the car in the morning (specially in winter) and move the gear position into D to move forward, the car does'nt move an inch forward. I have to wait for engine to warm up (or something which i dont know) and it took almost 20 to 25 minutes for the car to move forward. Thanks bro for ur suggestion but I have already paid a visit to Usman sb @ Dastagir he charged 10000 rupees for replacing valve body but the problem is still there u can search my previous thread in which I have explained all story

Sir I have found a person in shershah who claims that he has U341E gearbox. Now how to confirm this thing??? Where is it written or embosed?? Also he is demanding 45000 rupees for it. Kindly guide me as early as possible .

please go back to usman auto workshop claim that the issue is not resolved and gone kaput in xx days. Don't throw away the money in trash they will fix it and may charge additional

If u like a cheaper alternative then u can go for a manual transmission swap as they are simpler electronically and mechanically.Plus u will get better fuel economy and acceleration.But u will have to shift the car urself using clutch which is the only downside of a manual car.

how bad is the oil smelling? - btw what oil was used? and why did it overheat? is the oil cooler in the radiator plugged?

on some models its cast on top of gearbox, on some models there is a metal strip plate with a bar code - on it there will be a mention of U341E

@aziz.rehan for conversion to manual transmission the owner has to buy an ECU for manual vehicle with the clutch pedal, shifter assembly, shifter cables, clutch master cylinder, clutch salve cylinder, plus a fly wheel - yes the flywheel for manual car is different then the fly wheel of auto transmission vehicle. am sure we all learn from this forum every day something new.

Yes in 4th gear it started to act like neutral and when I removed the dipstick there was a very bad burning smell plus some plug stick material on stick. The ATF used was T-IV and cooler line is connected . The reason of overheated is TCC not engaging as per my understanding.
