Guys,

I have purchased Lahore number car and I am residing in Isb. The previous owner of the car used to send his copy to his friend in Lahore who used to take care of token and stamping. In my case its not possible. I have paid the last token in Islamabad, through an agent in F-8. He said its legit and you can do it.

Today I went to a local post office and he told me the I would be in trouble if I had to sell my car. He said I may have to re-pay all the tokens paid here. Is he right ? I have seen so many lahore registered cars over here how do they pay their tokens ?

incase of gpo go before 1 pm

Hammad, u cant just walk into a post office and pay token.u either have to pay in existing post office(u can check from previous tokens paid) .
however i think u can move the post office to Pindi as it will be Punjab, i dont know the exact procedure. but nothing is simple and straight in pakistan sadly

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, It was not paid to post office last time. The tax was deposited to a bank and I got the challan and receipt for that. According to the agent, it is legal and once you want to sell the car you can get the certificate of the payment of the tokens from the local office.

It all seems to me difficult. I dont want to involve this agent everytime I have to pay token. The transfer option seems more plausible but I dont know if its possible without visiting lahore or not.

guys this is the time with least rush. so anyone left with paying tokens should go for it

Hammad bhai, unfortunately the system is complex if u dont do things under the table. probably they will ask for NOC from lahore post office etc. but u need to talk to someone in pindi post offices and offer him a bit extra to do all the extra paper work

i wanted to shift within isb post office. one idiot @ post office said, some DC approval is needed. at a different post office the guy made sense(he said if ur address is local to this post office area its possible to shift)

Ya, thats exactly a guy in the G-10 post office told me. He said go to pindi post office (any one will do fine) give them a fake pindi address (if you dont have a legit one) and start paying your token. Seems simple to me but dont know if it is possible to start paying your token money in pindi without informing the post office (lahore one).

Lets see. Thanks anyways. This thread was a good intiative. Helped many and surfaced many irregularities at govt level.

Brother I think you have been conned. There is no concept of token payment at a bank. Only tranfer fee and registration fee is paid in a bank when you buy a car.

Atlast i have deposited token tax fee of my Alto 1000cc
Rs. 348/- (Token Tax)
Rs. 750/- (Withholding Tax)
Total: Rs. 1100/-

Also asked him if i wanted to transfer from GPO to another PO within the same city, he said an photo copy of registration and the token stamps to be deposited and it will take a couple of days. I have to transfer one token from GPO to johar town and will do that in a couple of days.

Hi I paid my token tax today. Its a cuore 2007 and tokens were previously paid till 2008. So I took advantage of govt's rebate offer and paid previous tax as well. So total amount I paid was 4900.

I had already calculated my token tax payable from following website.. took a print.. and showed that to post office person so that he cant trick me into extra charges..

No offense to people in ISB in anyway, but please post token paid from LHR as well. In ISB is f.u.c.k.i.n cheap as compared to LHR.
