Today paid token for my GLi 2009 (1299cc) at GPO Lahore.

Details:

Renewal Amount: RS 1080
Income Tax: RS 1750
Provincial Tax: RS 200
Total: RS 3030

At what time u visited GPO , what is status of long queue there , still long queue ?

professional tax 200

professional tax ...huh

next they are going to come up with azadi tax or karatay tax or w/e

I reached there at about 9:00 AM. there were already long queues there. But the number of people keep on increasing. Almost after 15 minutes when I stood in the queue, there were about 50 more people behind me.

It took me two hours to submit the Reg. book. and after 15 minutes approx. I got my book back.

You can say there was a lot of khwari. and when I left, still there were around 200 people in the GPO.

If you have to pay token at GPO then you should get there before 8:00 AM. there will be few people there. but I may be wrong because next week is the last week.

Can somebody tell if its Professional tax or Provincial Tax. On Punjab Govt. Official Website, it is mentioned as Professional Tax but on the Token Slip, it is mentioned as Provincial Tax. What's the purpose of both of these taxes?

And also Income Tax is cut from our salary on monthly basis so why they are taking this Tax again.

See how just one cc can increase the tax so much

For my Pakistani Corolla which is registered as 1299 cc, the annual charges (token+tax) is 2098 rs.

Can you please tell me the breakdown of the total amount? In Lahore, its 3030 Rs. for Corolla 1299cc. I have also mentioned the breakdown of total amount in my earlier post

Thank you very much. In Lahore, 1750 Rs. are mentioned as income tax. They can't even name the tax correctly. On website they say Professional tax is Rs. 200 and on Token Slip it is mentioned as Provincial tax.

Does anyone know (or has recently paid) the process for paying token tax of commercial vehicle in Lahore?
Is taking the original book mandatory or the copy would suffice (along with original receipt of token tax slip)?

I have some relative in lhr doing it for me and I think he is being misled by the agents around on the two things above.

Lahore GPO have extended the last date from 31 july to 30 Sep 2010 with out fine ,But off-course with out 10 % discount on Tax amount only(Discount amount don't include Income Tax and provincial tax fee) , So small car owner can afford delay

I would like to know same thing happens in other cities as well ?

yes it is for all!
but guys remember for cars like diesel corollas etc, already have a huge token amount, so its better to avail 10%

however if i had a mehran i would always go after july and pay 10% extra instead of all the khuwari

my father told me the same thing. its wiser for people with small cars like mehrans to pay 10% extra and pay tokens after july
