Rs. 900 rupay ke rebate bhi nahi meli aap ko? I thought token paid in July get some rebate.

Latest Update From GPO Lahore, as i went there today (24th July 2014) for the token of my father's car,
According to the instructions there,
The Tax payer should have to bring following items with them:
1. Online Verification of NTN Number (3 copies)
2. The previous year tax return i.e. for the fiscal year of July 2013 -June 2014 (3 copies)
3. Photocopies of CNIC Card (3 copies)
Now, you have to get them verified from the counter present at the GPO, then you have to submit the papers along the registration book and on the third counter upon the calling of your car's registration number you have to pay the amount and get the slip.
Now the interesting part as the thread was saying that the amount has increase upto Rs. 21200, so i was mentally prepared for it. But due to the fact that my father is tax payer the tax calculated was Rs.14300.

My father is a tax payer but return was not filed so paid 5820 instead of 3800 on 1299cc

LOL I won't give them the satisfaction to fleece more money out of me.I'll probably go on the 21st or 22nd and get done with it whatever the rate is.Yeah it may just be that, dil ki tasalli as you put it and unfortunately we've become accustomed to hearing it from every government that comes to power.Hopefully I pray we all get up from this nightmare and status quo within our lifetime. Ok here is a bit of an update on my part. I went to the CMA Colony post office after a 10 days interval on the 22nd and saw that this time, the clerk had an amended rate list which cleared my confusion from my last visit.
It turned out that the picture of the upper list in the original post for the 10 years old cars column is with rebate for the month of July, and the 2nd lower picture of the rate list in the original post again for the 10 years old cars column is what one will pay after 31st July still with rebate but which is much lower than the one applicable for July. I paid Rs. 6075 for my 2002 KIA Grand Sportage 1998 CC. So unless one wants to pay a bit more on a 10 years old or more car, I suggest you better hurry and avail this higher rebate rate as there is still few days left. Needless to say, that revised downwards rate list I was dreaming of obviously ain't happening this year.

What is happening yar... I was charged 6075 for 2001 vti... Did I pay more because u paid 6075 for 1998cc so technically my car should have less token fee. Right?
P.S last year it was 3 thousand something...

he did everything, delivered it to my home.

Agents are doing something wrong. Agent told me 6500 for city 2004 but my frnd paid 3384 for city 2006.

How much CC is the 2001 Vti? 'cause if it's anywhere from 1501 CC upto 2000 CC then they charged you correctly at Rs 6075. If it's lower than 1501 CC then they charged you wrongly for that bracket. Not sure how will you be able to get it corrected though. Yes last year it was Rs 3040 and this year it's double, so I guess you paid the right amount. Oh the insanity!

I paid 1,55, 000 for 2 digit number in feburary. 75000 was with-holding tax, around 65000 was reg fee. Rest was agent's fee, 2 digit number fee, I don't live in isbd so the rest of the docs etc.
but you won't have to pay the with-holding tax as far as I know. Its only for pkdm new cars, not for imports

I have Honda civic exi 2006. Engine capacity: 1493 cc. But the excise and taxation charges me Rs 18550. I don't know how they calculated it. My all previous token bills are clear and paid in time. Before paying the token, a friend of mine told me that the token amount comes out to be around Rs 11500 but I got amazed when I went to office for token paying. The detail is as under;
Motor vehicle tax = 6000
Motor vehicle tax arrears = 3000
Penalty = 750
Professional tax = 400
Income tax = 9000
Rebate = - 600
Total = Rs 18550.
Date of payment = 25 July 2014.
Please tell me why they have charged me so much token amount. Can I claim for refund if they have charged me incorrectly.

Must be around Rs 18000 to 20000 without NTN registration number.
