Hello Ali,

Well I'm not sure that it will work this way. Means there is some circuit used to convert Cassette pre head magnetic signals to audio signals in order to move to amplifier. (But you can give a try and let us know if it works). Anyhow there is one thing you can do without opening anything You might have seen the Aux Cassettes in market, which has a wire. These cassettes doesn't contain any tape inside, so you just insert the cassette and plug wire in some MP3 player.

So you can connect the audio jack with 3 output wires of this MP3 kit and enjoy

as far auxiliary cassette is concerned i m already using it my car, but i only wanted to figure out a way to use old cassette player (even if its mechanical system is faulty) as an amplifier with USB PRE.

tomorrow will be doing yet another diy to put tape back to its original state as this unit has RC out and in ports at the back and this sorta input is not required but it served purpose well for the diy,

i have removed the male socket from PCB and soldered the stereo cable directly you may jumper the stereo cable with current connections so that you may utilize both input methods, which ever may provide the input.

@mahmood: Well yaara before trying on my Alpine first I will search for its Circuit diagram to see the connections and all other stuff then only I will open it Optical devices are little fragile to do experiments

Mahmood, I have got an idea. If you use a stereo switch with 6 pins then you can easily shuffle between cassette player and your Aux input.

hmmm I guess 6 pins hi hon gein... you have three wires from AUX and 3 wires from tape head so ground ko common kar dein aur baki Aux ki Right & Left channels ki wires ko switch ke oopar points pe laga dein aur Tape Head ki wires ko switch ke neechay wale points pe laga dein aur switch ke middle two points ko PCB circuit pe laga dein...

Is tarha jab switch oopar ho ga toh PCB board ka connect AUX ke Right and Left channel ki wires se ho jaye ga, similalry jab switch neechay ho ga toh Tape Head se connection ho jaye ga

and herez how its done, the transistor thingy, the inline heat sink transistor

left right channels are of no good without ground, right!! so if we break ground from one and give it to other input mechanism by selecting from switch it will also work, your config is valid too, i am saying that common from aux on one side commom from tape head on other side and output common from switch in the middle and we select input from switch

Yes this kit is only player, that's why I used separate FM Modulator circuit By the way, you directly attached speaker to its output I guess it will be very low volume, you need to hook-up this with some AMP. I think this is the time you should connect this Pre with your Cassette player AMP using head connections

Oh MY GOD!!! This clock is looking so nice Well if you are going to install Cassette player in your car then you won't need any FM Modulator. Just take a wire out from its head connection and connect this pre. Ya agar meri tarha meri tarha normal CD player hai aur us ke connections ka nahi pata toh FM Modulator use kar lein.

kal mein modulator lagata hon iss k saath, thats a honda 2 din CD player with cassette player, so i have no intentions of messing around with it, btw hows fm sounds on this player, it would be great to retransmit fm to anothre receiver for amplification and then listening to it

Edit: shayed iss sunday ko final na ho sake coz i will be alone this sunday, jab bhi hova i'll share here with you

Oh Okies... yeah with FM Modulator is sounds is pretty good as per my fitting the FM modulator is placed just under the CD player so there is almost 4 inch or lesser distance which means no distortion. Try to use some good modulator (though all are same (H) )

as mentioned earlier, this clock was replaced by a new unit in my honda city with white letters clock, this one is green, had no idea for the price, i think you will find one around 500 from chah sultan or related market in your city
