Forget it. People here wax their cars in direct sunlight when the temp is 45C. Then they run chores while the wax is still on the paint. If you try to reason with them and explain that a wax is supposed to be applied out of direct sunlight and on cool body panels, their responses are usually "ustaad ne sikhaya tha".. "tumhari itni Umar nhn jitna mera paalash karne ka tajarba hay"... "mein xx saal se aisay hee laga raha hun aur car chamak maarti hay".. "ye goron ko hamaray mulk ka mahol nhn pata, idher ki dhoop se chamak nikalti hay" and so on.

You are wasting your time lol. Might as well bang your head on the wall. Just accept that : Pakistan has unique weather conditions and equally unique people not found anywhere else on earth.

Please stop drinking the lassi that is peddled by ustaads and even every family elder too.

I call this "dada ki vegzall" syndrome.

Dada vegzall mein 40 number tel daalte thay aur har juma ko namaz ke baad sarviss karatay thay. Khoob tel aur grease lagwatay thay uss ke neechay. Radiator ka doodhiya paani nikalke shafaaf meetha paani bharte thay naee gaari mein. (Vauxhall victor came with anti corrosion oil mixed in water as coolant for tropical area)

As it was done by grandfathers people follow it fully and wholeheartidly, no matter how stupid it was.

Replace dada with ustaad - same thing over and again.

Same with "rental company do it, it must be ok.

And then you went to honda fanboi mode, that was a bit strange, but whatever rocks your boat. All I input is my life experiences, guys like you were fantastic business for me when I would replace bushings and joints.

Rental companies do things which increase their maintenance cost and depreciate the value of their ,vehicles more out of ignorance and lack of education, topped with the "kuch nahin hota" attitude.
If one insists on ignoring the advice of automobile manufacturer, engineer, environmental specialists and written warnings on one's cars, no one can do anything.

Local idiots owning cars pour 20w50 and remove thermostats, run on tap water in radiator because 40 saal tajurbaa ustaad said so.

Perfect recipe to kill engine in 100k, (average car owner in Pakistan is victim of dada ki vegzall problem)

, but as you are follower of "old is gold" please continue to follow your own mindset of diesel fuel on rubber parts. Dont try to prove its good to do that just saying "bhai sabb chalta hai, ye Pakistan hai"

Its proven science that petroleum fuels degrade the rubber that suspension parts are made of, its literally prohibited in service literature, they also prohibit powerwashing an engine, specially a hot engine, but whatever rocks your boat

But it seems that ustaad, dadajaan, sarviss tayshunn and your freinds rental agency are better than the co. Who made the car when it comes to maintenance.

Dont act like typical Pakistani and try to drag insults because out of all passports I own, one is still green and has Pakistani coat of arms on it.

Have you ever seen any random parts shop or even dealership? - even toyota was pouring 20W50..

Im not dragging irrelevant points - I dont care if you have rental fleets - Its proven that petroleum rots rubber. You cannot prove otherwise.

All Japanese cars have premium quality parts installed in them at the factory - even if that factory is in Pakistan - premium doesnt mean they are idiot proof though.

e.g. if you spray petroleum distillate on a premium rubber part, it will rot away, if you shoot petroleum distillate at the undercoating sprayed on a car, it will lift up and fall off.

Facts remain facts.. as you said!! - so please tell us how your magic diesel fuel doesnt rot rubber.

i was talking about removing thermostat . if petroleum rots rubber than its also proven that nothing happens afterwards and if something would happen people would stop doing it .

Removing thermostat is favorite work of any mechanic in Pakistan, they even remove them from brand new cars. Even this forum is full of examples.

and yes petroleum rots rubber - its a "proven" fact. it literally breaks down rubber compound. - while you are claiming it doesnt - and then say its proof that nothing happens.

Can you show that proof?

I went to university to get a degree in chemistry too, so I know what petroleum distillates do to rubber, you can have a gander at this page too.

The local corollas and civics use the same parts as you will find in any global model corolla and civic. Infact they use a higher quality suspension and brake setup.

So you are expecting that diesel fuel evaporates? Its a light oil, and not volatile.

The concept of dry that you are assuming is not dry but the rubber is absorbing the fuel and the undercoat which also has rubber in it is also absorbing it - as rubber rots/dissolves with it - slowly - but yes it does dissolve it.

The cracks you see in old tires or suspension bushings are due to ozone. Its not rocket science, This is ancient common knowledge for anyone who had access to a school/college and a library.
