Assalamo Alikum

I have searched a thing which is mostly needed in New Corolla due to its "Open Mind" CPU which is vulnerable to water and dust and heat too. The new CPU costs about 90K and Toyota is very happy to place the CPU inside engine bay to get more and more profit from poor customers.

I was regularly searching for the thing and browsing the Pakwheels.com as well for the last couple of months. One day I saw this thread

Then I started for my goal and today I got it from 'Toyota Walton Motors', Walton Road, Lahore Cantt for Rs. 500/- only and I fixed it myself as the pictures below will tell the story.

One thing I want to clear that I have searched all the Toyota Dealerships of Lahore and also known shops of Montgomery Road, but didn't find it till today.

Tools Needed:

1. Ratchet Set with 10 number socket
2. Phillips screw driver

Process:

1. Just partially unscrew the 10 number bolt of ECU Body fixed into car's chassis using ratchet socket . If you didn't have ratchet socket then it is not possible for you to D.I.Y.

Fix one end of ECU cover into that bolt and tighten it using ratchet socket and then use the screw and clip to fix the second end of ECU cover using Philips screw driver.

It hardly takes more than 15 minutes to fix it and I did it in 30 mins because I have two corollas.

If they were to start giving it free, who will purchase ECU for Rs. 90K from them and secondly they are not even disclosing about the said thing to customer and lastly only one out of 6 dealerships have this item.

The thing is not available in open market, it was the search of one pak wheeler who got it from Peshawar and Karachi and Pindi/Isb members searched but all in vain, lastly i tried it and got it

There is a guy in Toyota Islamabad Motors ... he is more interested in promoting his own private business than the company business. He quoted Rs. 1500 for the ECU cover.

I rang up a friend at Lahore and he purchased the ECU cover from Toyota Walton and sent it to me. The quality was a bit rough, as shown in the first posting, so I spent Rs. 150 more and got it covered with a black raxene cover. It looks very nice now.

As I checked earlier from couple of shops in Islamabad, the cover is available in Peshawar for about 300-350, but the quality of cover from Toyota Walton Motor is better than the ones from Peshawar.
