I have found what you are saying in service manual. You are correct. But can you confirm that this feature is there in our PKDM civic 6th gen?

knocking occurs when thermostat removed and direct fans . due to sensor low temp reading car always runs in rich fuel/ advance timming and knocking occurs. replace tstat valve and auto fan knocking will definitely go. my personal experience

Another update (part of second):
Mechanic used a acanner after failing to understand the issue.
Two errors shown on the OBD scanner, one related to IACV and the other related to Throttle body.
He removed those things, properly placed them, and then check for errors again, none found afterward.

The knocking issue is gone along with RPM dropping to zero issue.

Means IACV error was resulting in bad idle and TPS wasn't calibrated.

No, the issue generated after the tuning is done (second update).

The idle is still at 1200 RPM.

Samajh nahi aa rha ks mechanic kay paas jaaya jae ab. Already tried 4 different mechanics.

Current one is not 'typical' mechanical, the owner is educated + they had all different kind of machines and they look a bit professional too.

also check the TPS voltages at rest.
you should ask him about the screw. looks like he messed with it or iacv.

The avg is 8 now (without AC) after all those tunings and cleaning.
It was giving 6.5 with AC so I don't think kay koi major farq aaya hai.

What should I do to increase the average? Expert advice required.

You can't except more from a 1.3cc in heavy chassis.

If a mechanic is insisting on a direct radiator fan, first thing you should do is to change your mechanic

You already tried 4 mechanics, you should share your city and ask members for reference of a reliable mechanic in your area

Some mechanics would make direct radiator fan connection bypassing thermostat valve in summers but restore it in winters. How about this technique? Is it effective for older, worn out engines known for heating up in hot summer months while using aircon or climbing uphills?

No its a very bad technique. It shows your cooling system has a problem and it will eventually show problem in winter also

Engine being old has nothing to do with getting heat up, no matter how old or worn out the engine is, its your cooling system which is responsible to keep it cool and at optimal temperature. Its not the worn out engine but the worn out cooling system which causes heating up, and unfortunately instead of fixing the root cause our stupid ustaad mechanics turn to jugaad
