The figures you quoted are quite close. Now lets compare some facts
Suzuki’s plant has a capacity of more than 100,000 units per annum and it took them more than 30 years to come here, on the other hand FAW is only 5 Years old as for as local assembly is concerned and has a capcity of 10,000 units per annum with Local assembled V2 starting from September 2017.
Suzuki has a Dealer network of around 113 Dealers nationwide while FAW has only around 20 Dealers in all major cities.
This is a fact that Pakistani people are a bit reluctant to buy Chinese cars but that reluctancy is fading away with time because they have improved a lot in last few years and the other reason is that Suzuki not offering quality cars.
Assuming for a minute that, Suzuki volumes proves that they are superior in quality (which I don’t believe) .... Why is that Suzuki was never ever able to sell volumes when it comes to a Sedan sedan like Baleno, Liana and now Ciaz.... they were never able to achieve reasonable volume in Swift as well despite being a fact that it was the only hatchback in that category and other than that hey had to sell their recently launched Vitara “The Game Changer” (although Vitara is a good SUV) Rs. 1 million below the invoice price just to get rid of their stock.
WagonR sells because its cheap, quality and as well as price wise and availability of parts in every nook and corner because if their huge Dealer network, but this is not happening with the New Cultus.
Now coming back to FAW again.... If their Plant is running on almost full capacity including XPV, Carrier, V2 alang with all the Heavy trucks with booking time of around 2 months .... then they are doing good according to this situation. They are here for business and making profits... by providing decent cars with value for money... why should they compete with a company with a capacity of more than 100,000 units in a country with a total of around 250,000 car market which also include Honda, Toyota and around 79k plus used cars import.
People who bought V2, bought it with their own choice and nobody forced them and they are pretty happy with it.
