Fuel average practically achieved for corolla variants

I see two issues for your below par mileage, a) under power shifting (2000 is too low to shift a gear, change at 2700)
B) your engine oil, this engine needs 10w40 to the least and works best with 5w30.
Whats the odo reading?

Odometer reading is 117000 km. High viscosity oil surely affects the fuel average and i have planned to switch grade to10w-40. If there is no oil reduction issue, I'll continue with it.
I resorted to 2000 RPM shifting after observing the shift pattern of Corolla CVTi (Tweaked for 7 Steps). However, I'll try changing gears at 2700 RPM to check if it makes some difference

Here is link to another thread for addition information related to our discussion. It is mentioned that Manual 6th gear and ECT 4th gear are overdrive gears with same RPM range

Lets talk about the regular Auto 4 speed vs 5 speed. In 4 speed the gears have tall ratio and in 5 speed short ratios but final 4th gear in 4 speed and 5th gear in 5 speed Autos are overdrive and dropps rpms to approx same level on highway cruise. On highway they will have almost same avg and almost nearer rpms on a given speed. Hi, I am in the process of buying a new Altis 1.6 auto for myself. I have a few questions which I hope someone here will be able to answer. 4 speed gear box: Doesn't that automatically mean higher RPMs on high speeds (say 100 and above) What's the fuel economy on long stretches? The cvt is for a 1.8, and those shifts you see are fake fabricated shifts, so hence the need not to be followed. Driving a car under powered causes it to run rich, hence higher fuel consumption

He says almost nearer rpms, but 4th gear and 6th gear have to have a difference. But then again, Toyotas are meant to be responsive, hence the high rpm in 6th.. That is the only way that I understand this bezar action. There is absolutely no point to a 6 speed if the fuel consumption is the same

RPM of Altis 1.6 Cruisetomic at 120 km/h is 2.8

RPM of Altis 1.6 6-Speed at 120 km/h is 3.1

So Corolla 1.6 Cruisetonic returns better fuel average on motorways/ smooth highways

Can you ease the throttle on the 6-speed to reduce RPM to 2800, and see if the car holds that speed (120). I mean other than cruise what's the difference between the 2 cars? They are the same? If one holds 120 at 2800rpm, the other should do the same.

Easing throttle in manual transmission directly results in speed reduction. In auto transmission however, it may result in gear shift
