AOA everyone,
This is my first thread and I hope you guys will help me out in planning my trip.
As the title speaks I am planning a trip to Naran, Kaghan, Nathia gali and nearby places in coming october 2013 with my wife. We will be two persons and the car we will use is 2001 vitz 1000cc petrol, automatic transmission.
This will be my first trip beyond Islamabad and Murree. I am not a frequent traveler but my driving skills are good as I have driven 6 times to Murree straight from Lahore and without any stay.
Brothers I need sincere advice and help in following things.
1. Will october be a good to go there on my own car?
Yes u can go on your own car.
2. Will the roads be open and clear means any chances of snowfall or any other weather issue? I dont want to get stuck there because of anything like this.
Roads will be open and snowfall only occurs on mountain tops in October.
3. What type of clothes and accessories should we carry?
Be prepared for very cold nights.
4. Will lake Saif-ul-malook and other sideby lakes accessible in october?
You can go to Saif-ul-Muluk and Lulusar may be open. Check at spot.
5. How much time will it take from Lahore to Naran and which way to take?
Motorway till Burhan and then KKH from Hasan Abdal till Mansehra bypass and the take right side bypass for Balakot and onwards to Kaghan Valley.
Time depends on your stays and timing of day u travel from Lahore. If u cross Hasan Abdal - Mansehra section around early morning then travel time will reduce and will be less hectic as this road gets very busy in day time. Average 11-12 hrs
6. Which things should be inspected before taking the car there, I mean what should be perfect for driving in those areas?
7. Which places should we visit in our trip?
Shogran Sri Paye, Naran, Saif-ul-Muluk, Lalazar and if route open then till Lulusar. Babusar may be closed due to snowfall.
8. Lastly please name some good hotels and restaurants plus please advice where to stay and which places to avoid if they are not safe to visit?
Naran will be almost empty so inspect and choose at spot.
I think I've asked foremost things but you all are welcome to give any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
