HIDs and Narva Bulbs

Just stick to your stock setup, don't think about installing HID in your current reflector housing. I'll tell you why it's not a good idea.

Your car's reflector is designed for Halogen bulbs, installing an HID will literally ruin your beam pattern and there will be tons of Glare everywhere if you install HID's in your current setup. Now you don't want this to happen, firstly because your car will be 'throwing' light all over the place rather than focusing it on the road only. Very similar to this:

If you buy projectors from the local market, that would be useless since they are very low quality and are Halogen Projectors (not meant for HID).

That's why it's better to save money and get bulbs that are good performers, you have a few choices here:

- Philips X-treme Vision
- Philips Rally
- Osram Night Breakers
- Osram Silverstar
- Narva Power Rallye

If your budget is limited, then you can just go for Standard Narva bulbs. If your vision still isn't good after installing any of these, then your Headlight Lens might have been a victim of Oxidation, clean it up. Here's a link to a DIY I did to clean mine:

Walaikum Salam

If your Vitz had HID's installed from factory, then it has an HID reflector housing especially designed to be used with HID bulbs only.

If this is the case then your Vitz uses D2R bulbs. You don't need to switch to Halogens, if your bulbs are wearing out then get new ones. But that's highly unlikely since factory installed HID's don't wear out, only the temperature changes over time.

for bulbs never buy them from a speed shop kind of thing, look for a proper bulb retail store in the automotive market. You will find them there.

There are about 3 shops in Plaza market Karachi that sell Osram and Koito bulbs - they even have the small bayonet and fishie bulbs in different wattages in those brands. .......

Plaza is a huge market, can u kindly direct us to the name of the shops or anything particular about them, so we can avoid fakes. Thanks

Best place to get them is from Plaza.
Last time I checked even Nasir Motors had a good collection of them.

But I wouldn't suggest Narva 90/100W bulbs, reason being exactly what Mr.Xulfiqar stated above.

I mean it's common sense, when your car's wiring is designed for 55W lighting, WHY would you install 90/100W bulbs without even thinking? It's a disaster call.

Clean up the lens and grab some 55W Narva or Koito if you want to stick to the stock setup.

Nasir motors just stocks general spare parts, there is a shop in tibet centre that only deals in bulbs and has all kinds in Osram, Koito and Hella too. For good illumination I would also suggest to check the bulb holders, if they are melting, get a new set and solder them to the original wiring with proper electric solder (the reason Im putting this here is that some numbskull here on PW asked his radiator waala to use his acid solder on his car headlamp wiring - the wiring corroded in less than a month - and I just got a PM from him)

You can always check your headlight housing for that, the wattage and bulb type is mentioned there.

You'll need a pair of 9006 Bulbs for the Low Beams and a pair of H11 for the fogs.

I'll suggest leaving the High Beam bulbs (9005) stock and don't get the night breaker or X-treme Vision for the fogs either. Stick to stock or get Yellow Halogens, Luminics or Osram although they can be difficult to come across here.

About the price, you'll have to survey obviously.

You should always get replacement bulbs according to the detail mentioned on the housing.

Well I have relays installed if that helps! I like the lights, they're bright and good for driving at night. Are there any modifications that I could do in order to just keep using these? Because I don't want to switch back to the standard ones. I'm in love with them!! I got the narvas from Autoline from Plaza if it helps. And yes Mehran uses an H4 pattern for headlights.

No problem! All of these are round about the same color temp, 4300k.

So wouldn't be there any visibility issue with this colour. As some people offen say white lights look good but they won't give you good road view. Is it any true?
Please recommend me what bulbs are good for MIRA? right now i am having stock Koito 55W bulbs. I want one that look great when illuminated.

You heard right but that's the case with HID kits, these bulbs are Halogen so they won't disrupt your beam pattern.

Stock Koito are good enough if you aren't facing any visibility issues
