honda shops do all experiments at customer cost and then announce engine overheated and submit an estimate in good 70000+ figure. Earlier items changed get swapped with old ones that cost is not their additional profit over and above the estimate.

they just gave the verdict that it is not our fault. you or someone else probably didn't close the radiator lid properly. so not our issue and on check light issue again the same response that who knows what happened and how it happened.
I asked them to check the cooling pipes with pressure test and they didn't even know how it is done and said we can look at it visually only.

Honda civix X has overheating problem. A lot of people have complained about it. It seems to be a manufacturing issue. Some say that the problem has been resolved in post 2020 version.

I suggest that you sell your car and buy a newer model or switch to Corolla / Yaris as they are relatively more reliable cars.

You guys might be living under a rock. Don't act like an ostrich. Civic X is a crap car. Ive read a lot of PW members complain of engine heat up and many other issues with Honda Civic X. The car holds the distinction of being the first zero meter lemon car in Pakistan.

Ive personally seen a Honda Civic X being towed with the owner inside the car. Thats why there aren't too many Civic X here in Karachi. Most sedan cars on the road are Corolla or Kia. My boss owned a Civic X but he shifted to Kia due to crappy issues.

Civic x engine too hot under the hood

Dear Users, I have a civic x 1.8 oriel 2018 model done 11k mileage. I am using honda 0w-20 oil but I usually observe car engine really heats up under the hood and the temperature gauge shows all normal although my routine trips are very short hardly 14 km a day. It really feels annoying to open the car bonnet after the car has done a few km. Kindly suggest if I am using the correct oil grade or there might be some other issue or is it normal.

The first link is quite fishy - how can a 23k km driven, 1 year old car, go out of warranty? No explanation given by the user.

The OP in the 3rd link claims that his car was overheating - how? Because he felt that the bonnet was too hot to place his hand on. Absolute rubbish.

Based on 1 link , where the needle is just slightly over the normal position when pushed hard, you conclude that this Civic has an overheating problem. My 26 year old piece of junk Khyber, with A/C on, doesn't overheat even in stop and go traffic - it has auto fan and thermostat in place. No modern car from a halfway decent manufacturer doesn't have an overheating problem by design - it usually boils down to ignorant owners.

Btw, the video link describes the steering problem present in earlier model 10th gens - nothing to do with overheating. It was a worldwide problem with this generation, along with the A/C evaporator.

I have pasted only some of the links about Cixic X overheating issues. There are many other links at Pakwheels and external sources that say that Civic X has an overheating issue. Even Civic X car owners in international forums complain of this fact.

The problem seems to be due to integrated head design, small radiator size, and inefficient turbo.

The heatup problem along with other issuss make Civic X a highly unreliable car, as rightly stated by PW owner and legend Mr. Sunil. The sensible thing to do it is to sell the junk right away and switch to Grande or upgrade to Kia Sportage. The car will depreciate fast due to so many issues in the coming +5 years. Personally, I would never buy it even if you offered 20 lacs for it.

Second apki bat rahi steering rack ki to that was a common issue which was resolved in the 2019 facelift model till much extent

was the company involved ?
You should have posted it on civic x forum and get support from experts Honda will for sure bear the expense if car is maintained and under warranty you have to fight for your right.

Not every car has problems some units are faulty and create many issues of heat up steering rack fuel pump battery etc etc its up to qismat ohh i forgot the famous ac fault
Grande is free from any issue
Alhumdullilah i own both of them
I have faced ac sterring rack fuel pump issues changed 3 set of batteries but still after these expense the drive is still better then floating grande

Overheating on track is very different to overheating in street conditions. And yes, the CIVIC TYPE R overheats, which has a different engine (2.0L turbo, 300 hp) compared to the ones offered here (1.8NA, 1.5T). I can assure you, even your beloved grande will overheat on track after 2-3 hot laps. I've lived in the US and have went to track days so I know what I'm talking about. Once again, you are providing utterly useless evidence to support your claim. You should really increase your knowledge of cars and how they work- especially what track days mean- and then you can come and try to (mis)guide others.

According to some intelligent individuals, using a car on track with hard cornering, using heel toe shifts and redlining the shit out of the engine on the hot Willow springs track is the same as going to the Office or going to Lahore from ISB with cruise set on 120. Even the hard core racecars overheat on track days with much bigger cooling systems, it's outrageous that people can compare the two situations. A one-off overheating case doesn't mean a car has failed or everyone should avoid it or Atlas should pack their bags up but yes, I do agree people have faced the steering rack and AC evaporator coil issue. We should call a spade a spade.
