Indeed, Toyota had used Honda engines, if Honda had not decided also to make some cars, and toyota is not shy of employing external expertise to make its products better, and thats the reason for their success !!
Now toyota has collaboration with Isuzu for developing diesel engines (infact from a short time ago). Read the statement of the president of Isuzu, and that will tell us what a collaboration is about! Does that mean toyota could not make engines.
The new mercedes s-class w221 has a radar based cruise control system (a main marketing feature), developed by Continental Automotive Corp. Continentat in-turn also makes tyres. Now what would you say about that! (if you ask me, this is what makes Mercedes better than the others)!
Your comments concerning toyota being a manufacturer of looms has been repeated once again! These machines have complex mechanicals, and a company with such a background can use its expertise in other mechanical products to make them more reliable, now that whats toyota has done.
And they are still in this buisness, manufacturing textile units, nothing feminine about that! OR?
