I would ask one more question, most of the experienced members says that Dubai is blood sucking place and other things which gives an impression that it is not a good idea to try getting job there and ultimately move in.

I do understand that Pakis are badnaam over there plus there is a lot of discrimination but aren't these things pretty much same in pakistan?

Now... First of all! Jiska jahan rizq likha hai woh ussko wahan khainch leta hai. I have seen people who were my seniors and used to fail again and again and got graduated after me but are on better jobs and are settled better mashAllah. So sometimes it's not just what you see or think if he has it why don't I.

Now coming to your friends. If you think 4000 Dhs Salary is a good option, sir aap aankhain band kar k aa jao itni salary ki job to mil jai gi. But you won't be able to save much or even live properly. Do you know to sponsor your wife or family you have to have a minimum salary of 5000! As far as license is concerned woh aapko 10 saal k liye hi milta hai. Nothing fancy!

So mera mashwarra yehi hai k agar 4000 ki naukri milti bhi hai to mat aao. Shayad bachat aapki Pakistan mai bhi nahi hoti ho par yahan bhi nahi hogi ulta ghar waloun ki duriyan kaato gy. If you can get something better here then yes, do come! But Dubai is not a place to live if you earn less than 15,000/- Dhs

Good advice.

A little story:

a) An average Pakistani trying to get a job abroad without any links etc. he goes to dealer, pays amount for Visa other necessities etc.
Travels abroad- The dealer only covers the visa and stuff and optionally, extra payment for securing him a job.

When he reaches the destination- he tries to first find a roof over his head, even though he will have to share room with dozen of other men. After that, he starts the search for a job, desperate as is, he takes even the crappiest jobs just to keep living.

Slowly, he progresses and learns what to do, how to get a good job etc. This process can take days, months and for some people i know YEARS.

b) This person has friends/family living/working abroad- he contacts them, they ask their workplace to let another one in, telling them that he's hard working basically vouching for him. The workplace sends the person a visa and maybe a airline ticket too.

Apply online, once you strike go. Some people have sold their land etc. and wasted it all on living costs trying to secure a job.

If Milk costs 85-90 Rupees per liter in Islamabad, anyone with 8 lac cash can make 20-30,000 rupees PER DAY and that too in Pakistan.

On a separate note, from what I have been able to understand in the little time I have been here is an assessment based on some "intangible" factors as well.

First, UAE has no history or culture whatsoever (unlike Pakistan). These were fishermen and pearl divers living in the desert. A person with a love of culture, history and spiritualism will not feel comfortable here.

The overall culture of UAE is of alienation. People get depressed very quickly and most of the people don't help each other out. Everyone for himself! Suicides are pretty common here.

UAE is very nice to look at but it's all very clinically clean and artificially projected. They try to copy USA and Europe and have failed miserably to craft an identity for themselves.

As far as job hunting is concerned, in very few words, if you do not have someone who can confirm a job position for you here, do not waste your time and money. The recruitment process here is virtually non-existent. Wastaa (reference) is the only way to go. Yes, you can land 4k AED job if you are willing to live an unhappy life without family.

If you do land a job, make sure to write everything down in your contract. There are a lot of cheaters here. Remember, the offer letter you get is NOT your employment contract. Employment contract is in Arabic and is submitted to the Ministry of Labor to process your residence visa. Make sure to read it carefully. Have it translated from the same typing center which will draft it for you.

I learned all of this the hard way so please feel free to ask anything. I would be happy to help out in any way possible.

But em sure whtever happening here is a million times better then in Pakistan. I think we should look at ourselves first rather then pointing at others.
In Arabs ko Allah hi de raha hai kyu k in mai baki logo se zyada insaniyat hai (m talking about d real nationals not the balooshis or iranis). The labors ur pointing at are not recruited by these nationals... They r duped by their own countrymen & brought into UAE for hard labor jobs. I have heard from many of them stating that some agent promised them good job & better accomodations & when they landed here things were not the same.. & yes those agents were Pakistani, Indian & Bengalis.

To test ourselves lets try & have a single khutba during jumma prayers in whole of Pakistan... Impossible ryt? Well Not here in UAE.
To be honest most of the real nationals here are generous.. They have humanity.. & their government does alot for their benefits & welfare. There are sum black sheeps in Arabs aswell but as a whole they are much much better then us (pakistanis).
I had a chat with one local on this issue of discrimination between expat & local + these labor treatment... His answer wz simple... Ya akhi(brother) we dont force u to come here n work... U come urself & then you complain on top of tht you get paid aswell. If our government, our leaders help us why do u ppl hav problems? This is our country... Your statement is realistic and helpful for newbies. What about medical test that everyone have to undergo for obtaining residence visa and is there any chance of waseela or wasta applicable (in case of small misappropriations)? Please elaborate briefly. Also check your inbox.

Finding a job is not hard in U.A.E but their rules may suck the blood of innocent people, so be careful about everything because a little thing may become scary for you.

but some here are saying that dont even think about coming to UAE if u have no wasta/reference! Now u are saying its easy to find job in UAE. What to do???

Its better if you try to connect directly with prospective employer as much as possible by using social media, business listings and the most adequate is "waasta". If you want to get "job hunt" services you'll find a lot of recruiter agencies providing these services in U.A.E but most of them are misguiding people. By searching online, you might end up in a very nice looking website and you will find a list of adequately named job positions, such as ?Accountant,? ?Project Manager,? ?Human Resources Manager,? etc. You might then think to yourself, ?Great! That?s exactly what I want to do.? So, you register, spend time filling out all the forms, upload your CV, and click ?Apply?

Two days later, you receive a very positively sounding email that is written in a way to make you think that your application has been successful and all that is stopping you from securing a job interview and hopefully a job offer from Dubai is a relatively small fee that you have to pay to this website from which you applied for this job!

You may even be told that by paying this fee you are guaranteed to find a job or your money back. Then when you read the fine print or investigate deeper, you realize that they?ll honor this claim only after half a year had passed, if at all!

What do you get in return for your payment? Mostly, nothing of value to you.

However reputed recruitment companies do not charge the candidates for fees, they take the fees from the employer once they find him a suitable candidate. It is illegal for a recruitment firm to ask for money from a job seeker in the UAE. I have however been advised by a couple of people to pay money to expedite my CV. I haven't done that so don't know how true that is.

ok guys need some help specially those members who are already living in Dubai! After being frustrated by the pathetic job market of Pakistan where there are only telemarketing or call center jobs, I've decided to go to Dubai to find some job! Yes I know wahan bhi koi CEO ki post nai mil jaye gi, but at least its worth a shot! Half of the people I know who moved to Dubai got jobs within 1 month! So can anyone please guide me what to do once I get there?

Where to stay? This is like my biggest nightmare cuz I dont know where to stay!! I just need some bed space!
Which visa should I apply for? Can it be extended? If yes, then how??
Where to look for job? Any particular idea where I should go to drop off CV's or any other place to look?
What to expect from a job? I've done MBA in Marketing, how much should I expect?
What will be expenses? Take me as a very pampered guy who always lived with his family? So now I have no idea what my expenses will be!!

Doing odd jobs in arab countries is not a bright idea. Arabs are not some of the nicest people. You should only go to dubai if you have a degree in chemical or electrical engineering.

You can stay in a hotel or can get a bed space. Obviously hotel would be an expensive choice and you won't find bed space online like hotels. You can however check Dubizzle.com for bed spaces. You can't decide which one is better unless you visit it personally. Therefore, you need to have some support for at least a week or so during which you can find a reasonable bed space.

Once you get one, your life won't be the same. As you have mentioned you are a pampered child; be ready to face some harsh world then.

Apply for 1 month visa that can be extended for another month. Prices vary. We sell 2 Months visa for AED 1500/- after all the guarantees etc.

Try getting in touch with recruiting agents before going to the UAE. They can suggest you where to apply and drop your CVs after having a look at your expertise and experience.

As an MBA in Marketing and if you have good enough experience (Minimum 5 years Solid Experience), you should expect a reasonable salary. If you get a job in a Private small company, they may not offer you good. Bug companies have better packages. 5000 Dhs is not a good salary at all. Neither is 7000 Dhs. If you have no issues in what standard of life you spend, then you can live a basic life in 7000 Dhs. You may not own a car, or live in a good house, or do regular shopping or do some aeyashi but you would be fulfilling basic needs and saving something as well. That something will have value in Pakistan but not in Dubai. If you plan to marry and move your family there as well, 12,000 Dhs is the minimum you want for an average life provided your kids are small and are not going to school.

Keep in mind some small companies charge you for the visa costs as well when they give you a job.

What will be expenses? Take me as a very pampered guy who always lived with his family? So now I have no idea what my expenses will be!!

Just let me give you a basic breakdown for an idea. (single person spending time and not living a life)

Bed Space: AED 1500-2000 per month in a reasonable place in Dubai.
Khana Peena: AED 1000 per month
Moving Around: AED 500-700 per month
Baqi left right ka kharcha: AED 1000 - 1500 per month

Adding the minimum: AED 4000 Per month. If you get 5000, you can send 1000 i.e. PKR 27000 to Pakistan. I hope you can understand a life in AED 4000/-

Some other details that I am missing....

There are many things related to living in the UAE. That one gets to know when he goes there.

I don't have to say you left right ki baatain to waste your time. But if you go there for 4000-5000, you would be eventually wasting your time unless you are not focused in getting something better.

Yes ! Atleast in Muscat its true. You`ll get atleast twice or thrice the amount of pay even if you are a GORA Jamadar .Its just te way it is

I am in kuwait and we have a huge scope here. but the sh***ty part is that no visa for pakistanies. Even family visa is ban.

June to September every year is not a job hunt season in GCC states for educated class, The 'decisions makers' be it local or 'Expats' at senior positions are away for vacation from baking heat. Job hunt / hirings have bright chances between 15 Oct to March 15 in GCC region ; [ GCC = gulf cooperation council = Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, KSA & UAE ]
