Got this disturbing news today, Last night, Moggie was attacked by stray dogs. The new protective cover is badly ripped off, I hope no deep scratches on the exterior. Moggie is parked right next to the security guard's cabin. The security guard is surely going to get a bamboo when I am back next weekend. What a shame

Anyways, finally the much awaited shipment has arrived, tyres search was begun when I bought this car and its been at-least 4 years since I was looking for a descent set of 5/20/14, these are manufactured by Roadstone.

Paint job on the rims was 1 of the bigger pending jobs on this resto project, I have decided to acquire services of my Motorcycle painter to burn and scratch the old paint and rust from rims, then thick coat of "Old English White" and finally bake it in a bhati.

I am looking forward for quick progress on this job and then the car will go back to the painter for cut cream and final polishing (which hasn't been done since it is painted)

Resto project seems to be a never ending thing, I took off the old tyres from the rims and took them to the alignment guy, 2of them are already looking in the bad shape and denters have also apologized that they cant repair them from the current condition.

So this has further increased the scope of work & now I am looking for pair of RIMs. The Motorcycle painter gave +ve response on painting the moggie rims and will take only 3 days which sounds very good. Mr. Ramzan also had the point that BMC was also doing the baked paint on the rims in order to make a firm & long lasting grip. Let's see how soon I get the pair!

i know this feelig all too well,.. my dog (over the years) has been sqeezing through the gap of the wall and the 1303,.. leaving a few scratches on the rear left fender,... GRRRRRR!!

what is the PCD of the wheels? have you spokent to some other wheel guys and seen if they could possibly repair them? any other vehicle have the same wheel?

PCD is 4 inches, old FIATs 123 or 126 had almost the same RIMs and hub caps fitting wasnt an issue as well. After a week's search I have found 1 RIM so it make the total 4 which will normally run on the car, Search for 5th is still on, but this wouldnt stop the project!

Hyundai's 13 size also works in Morris, denter has to do minor modifications to fit the original hub cap, BUT I spent a lot of time in searching Moggies 5/20/14 so changing RIMs is not the solution.

since you were lucky enough to find 4 originals you could possibly use a hyundai rim as a spare for now until you find an original replacement.

i'm still looking for a 5th rims for my 1303 as well,.. specially since i'm back to the original 4x130 PCD (also a VW jack would be a nice addition as i don't have one at the moment)

I am hopeful that hunting of 5th wouldn't take too long.

@razak, very interesting boss, do check if you can hunt any for moggie and 1303.
How was your trip to Pindi? What are the updates on your projects? Latest photos of your moggie is alsa missing! I would alos love to see the stuff which came out of the box

True and agreed with the term loosly. Mr. Ramzan himself cut down more than 100 moggies which was considered as low grade car in that era and never gain the respect. This was not it, he also cut down other classics like old Austins, Fiats, Renaults etc. which he now regrets!

@Basharat, apologies for a delayed response, just arrived back in Liberia, got stuck in Morocco for 3 days.... reluctant holiday maker in Cassablanca!
Unfortunately the guy in Ahata seems to have run out of business, Ramzan bought a bulk of his leftover stuff.
Plenty of stuff done on Moggie and lot more remaining. Valves renewed, wiring mess cleaned up, tuning, lubrication of suspension and new (desi) bushes installed, brake shoes relinged, exhaust pipe clamp replaced.... the list goes on. Unfortunately I was not able to take pictures. On the top of my list is the installation of disk brakes and replacement of carburator. I was offered 18k for the CNG kit with 40kg cylinder. I hope I am able to raise about 20k when I visit next (April/May) Inshallah. Would like to get rid of it ASAP, the Cylinder will ruin rear suspension for nothing.
Ramzan was mentioning that you are trying to get the air clearner fabricated locally using your recently acquired unit as a mold. Is that correct? If so, please get a few made for me as well.
