On the way down, in order to save your brakes from damage, put it in 4L but do know that in 4L the gear ratios and torque figures change, so 1st is limited to 10km/h, 2nd to 20 and so on. Summer is around the corner. Today I decided to get my truck prepared to welcome the summer. Did the following jobs:

1. Gave the radiator a citrus flush and replaced the coolant.
2. Had the radiator mesh and Condenser wahsed with 'Harpic' and jet washed.
3. Changed engine oil. Decided to give Kixx 20W50 a try. Anyone tested this oil? The engine has become noticeably quiet.
4. Replaced Oil and air filters with Sankei.

As a result of the above, i felt the ride refreshed

While I was at it, I replaced the wind deflectors, added a bug guard and a sunroof visor will share pics tomorrow morning for review.

is washing with harpic or acid a good thing, and then going jet wash to delicate fins?

I think if you have a aluminium radiator then you just damaged it badly, the acid without neturalalising with a alkali is going to corrode your fins badly in some time and the jet wash could have furthered damaged/bent the fins.

Harpic is a mild acid as far as I know. Your point is absolutely valid in case of aluminium rad but mine is the old school brass one. The jet wash pressure was not too excessive hence fins are not damaged apparently. Moreover, I have done the same in the past without any problems.

As long as there are no problems, it isn't a mistake. Engine noise decrease means that it's working rather well. the only possible problem that occur is if the vehicle doesn't accept the oil, which is unlikely to happen

If luggage space isn't a problem, don't get the carrier. It just adds weight and drag
