For the past few weeks, the steering of my Pajero had become a little hard. Since last two days, it had started to rotate in steps when turning. I discussed with my mechanic who checked the power steering pump which was alright. He bled the steering box but the problem remained the same. There was also a vertical play in the steering column ever since I bought this vehicle which had now increased to an annoying extent. Hence we decided to dismantle the steering column for inspection. The part in the center of the picture has been replaced with a kabuli one, while the others were serviced and cross joints replaced. Now the steering is as smooth as EPS
though the whole process cost me about 16K, worth every penny I must say. Shared for review by experts.
