Need Guidance ! Pleasure Trip to Skardu Hunza

Dear Fellas!

Hope u all r fine. My name is Asif and am from Sialkot.

I've been planning for a family trip (me & my wife) to Skardu and onward by the end of this month i.e. May. I have suzuki mehran 2006 model (no cng, completely on petrol from day one) so in excellent condition. We have like 6-7 days for this trip. Kindly any guru let me know;

1) is skardu + onwards trip possible in max. 7 days from sialkot and back?

1) is it safe to travel with family towards Skardu via babusar pass and onward to hunza? Is babusar safe these days?

2) which scenic spots we need to see (i am complete noob on this route)?

3) As with family, so would like to stay at reasonable hotels? Which are those and what are their approx. charges?

4) Would be great if any guru could layout itinerary for me with accessible route?

5) What could be the total charges for this trip?

Highly appreciate for your valuable suggestions/help.

dear my humble advice is don't travel on babusar pass on a mehran ... you can skip babusar pass and naran and take directly KKH for your travel to skardu . you are with family and ruining you car and trip is not a good idea. You can visit hunza , skardu , in your mehran with some cautions. check ptdc hotel or there web site for reasonable accommodation but in hunza and skardu city there are a lot of options other then ptdc.

Sialkot >> Islamabad >> mansehra >> besham >> dasu >> chilas >> gilgit >> hunza

From chilas i can turn to skardu rather than going to gilgit but would have to pass thru gilgit for hunza

your route is correct mr.asif . the days u have are sufficent but relaxing more and drive less makes u enjoy better and gives u inside knowing of places traveled

Deosai normally opens in Mid June, this year my guess is it may be later due to late snowfall. Depends on weather, but plan for mid June.

dear deosai also needs a 4x4 and for the safe tour drive with care on un paved roads . not to be worry too much in a mehran because ground clearnce is good .

Thanks travellinghell, well I have plans to hire jeep for deosai trip, other bro told me that deosai will be reachable in mid June, is it true bcoz we really wanna go there (1 day trip) ?
