Yes that's because the 5w50 is not the right grade for your corolla. Its viscosity is too high. 10w30 on the other hand is appropriate. However, a fully synthetic 5w30 grade oil would be best for your car. Its viscosity is similar to 10w30 but has better cold start protection and you could find a fully synthetic grade in this oil locally. Consider Total quartz 9000 5w30 for your next oil change. There is no 10w30 fully synthetic oil sold in Pakistan.

Have u read the terms and conditions of your warranty properly ? Toyota has 5w30 but its rare. Try calling every dealership in your area. Just use some other oil. When engine related warranty problem arises just change ur oil again to their oil ( buy the oil with receipt as proof ).
They cannot tell which oil ur uses unless they have a special oil analysis lab .Uploading... Uploading...
Just use what is specified in the manual ( 5w30 is also included. From any brand but use fully synthetic i.e Total quartz 9000

You know, in pak, they don't do oil analysis, currently it may cost around 30k, they just check oil change history, if they have complete maintenance history, your claim is accepted

That is illegal,

Get this claim in writing on letterhead of dealer signed by service manager. Send that with a letter to imc port qasim and hoh and also tmc japan.

Enjoy your free service for a few years after that.

They wont provide it because they cannot. They know its illegal.

Yes thats a genuine problem, but the japanese people did this deliberately because most owners will come right back to the dealer if the gauge moved about. Mercedes and BMW dealerships used to get these customers a lot.

Mercedes went to buffered gauges and BMW completely removed them on some cars and buffered on the others. Audi were famous to always have a 60% sweep normal gauge. They are also now stuck at 40%

Not sure I understood that. Buffered gauges? What does that mean? My Mercedes displays ECT in Celsius with an analog needle. Is that a buffered gauge?

Now you know why cars are reverting back to idiot lights for temperature rather than a sweeping needle.

Btw, on mercedes the temperature is bufferred now, it used to be live read fo eons, they have still retained the live read on amg cars though.

Another example is my own silly german suv,

If I cruise gently the coolant is maintained at 106c, if I boot it and the turbo is blowing hard and engine is making more than 70% power and torque the water pump speeds up and thermostat opens up to regulate coolant temperature to 92c. (Pump and tstat valve are fully electric)

Imagine if it had live gauge, owners would constantly lose their minds. My car doesnt have gauge at all.. and sedans with similar engine have engine oil temperature gauge rather than coolant gauge.

Sometimes its better to keep stuff hidden just to quiten the over dramatic allaama, sufi and other similar hazraat and khawateen also.

Actually, Cars, Petrol and engine oil in overseas are different, you get clean petrol in overseas and but here in Pakistan, we don't get, in overseas, you get genuine engine oil whereas here in PK, Shalmi or Other places in Lahore just clean used engine oil to make it reusable and sell back to consumer so it is better to change oil as soon as possible when you feel that oil color is black or low.

Its a used JDM WagonR bought it at around 35k kms. Now i am at 63k kms. Usually used 5w30 but i had shity college exams so my mom send my cousin to get my car oil change ( we trust him ) from makki oil. So called ustaad or HATHORA ustaad recommended 10w30 “ Kiyu kay gari pachas hazar say uper chal
gai hai. Iss liya thora ghara tail istamaal kerna chahiya “. Even thought i told my cousin to put 5w30 he still bought 10w30 and now i have to bear squeaky noises during cold startups and when accelerating above 2500 rpms. I am changing this oil earlier than usual.
Thank god he didnt say to put 20w50. Now if you made a mistake when choosing oil viscosity as long as it is heavier than recommend it should not bring instant damage to engine although the lifespan is slightly reduced . Also the engine is fine. Before and now it never consumed engine oil so its still strong.

Bro I believe recommended oil is 0w20
After next change, stick to 5w30 atleast

It recommends 5w30 or 0w20. I might use 0w30 because its not freezing cold in lahore but also the 0w oils are very expensive and i also want to sell my car so why spend a lot of $$$$ for my last interval

forget how it looks, connect an OBD scan tool and pull the ECT pid - you will find that your beloved civic also has a buffered gauge - It doesnt matter if it looks like something from tron or something from a steam engine.
