Guys i further noticed that the CEL light only comes on when I am at idle with the AC running. In the morning when the car is warming up, i also noticed that the RPM fluctuates and even goes up to 1500-1700 without me pressing the accelerator. I hope a good tune up can solve the issue.

No, the guy at shamim auto tune did not even touch the oxygen sensor. He just tested the injectors, checked plugs, tried to removed throttle body but it was stuck so left it alone, and sprayed carb remover on the throttle body while reving the engine. The check engine light did does not turn on as soon as I start the engine. It turns on after some vibration at idle RPM. If the oxygen sensor is gone, the light should come on as soon as the engine is started?

of you get a CEL for anything immediately on engine start, it means that the circuit is open (missing sensor, dead sensor or cut wiring) - ECU does a bias check on key on.

CEL after run is for anomaly registered, and the o2 reporting dead after carb cleaning can be traced back to excessive carb cleaner flooding which killed your weak/dying sensor. I have experienced that in a lot of cars.

Please find a sensible mechanic and have him properly and thoroughly go through all the PIDs in the ECU to find the anomaly. Repairing EFI cars is not

I got the multimeter and did continuity tests on the wiring from the sensor to the ecu harness, all wires were perfectly fine, everything checked out. Then I did the voltage test for the heater, it was supplied with constant 14 volts when on. Then I did the current test, it pulled 1.5A in the beginning and within 10-15 seconds dropped down to a stable 0.75A, I researched about it and found out that in PWM (Pulse width modulated) AFR Sensors the current ranging between 0.3 to 8 Amps is fine, and depends on the manufacturer. So I guess no problem there, any other suggestions? Or I guess it's time to hand it over to the dealership then.

I decided before taking the car to 7s dealership, i should get it checked by my local electrician. Not to do any cher char. Only to check if he can find something obvious. Sure enough, he found a sensor (located on the intake manifold, dont know which one it is) with a pipe/hose disconnected. Once he cleaned the sensors contact and reattached the pipe/hose (its probably the intake pressure sensor) the rpm fluctuation went away. Driven about 70 kms since, not got the chk engine light.

@ Xulfiqar You were right, CEL was not not due to o2 sensor. Although the fuel consumption problem might still be o2 sensors fault. Thx

I gone through with this problem since two months
Before that swift had hiccups jerks and missing which forced me to radium plugs Japanese coil. On mornings startups rpm went high upto 1.2k to 1.3 then went down to normal 8. Fuel consumption is as usual but not calculated .
Come to problem now for on and off check engine light i went to autoclub Islamabad . they did catalytic serivce by cutting converter and with air pressure cleaned and fixed it.
Right after 70km light came back
Swift completed 125000km with no security system
What is solution of error sensor malfunction
Would i change osensor and cost factor

Litlle bit missing low pick rpm relatively at 7-8 rpm . catalyst serviced now no check engine light after 230km

Can you tell me from where did you get your cat convertor checked/cleaned? Also, you mentioned you got live data from o2 and maf sensors. Which mechanics in karachi have such scanners?

I just went through the thread. Have you checked the intake air temp sensor and the throttle body? Any issues there would also throw o2 sensor codes.

Have you checked intake and exhaust manifold gaskets? Minor leaks could result in o2 codes as well.
In such scenarios, I always start with the simplest solutions first. Clean and what the connectors thoroughly. Check the connector wire for brittleness. Attach the scanner and wiggle the wiring. Notice any voltage fluctuations.

Nah bro, it's still there. I actually gave up trying to fix it. The last resort 'Giving it to Suzuki' still remains, haven't done that yet. Don't feel the need to. The car works perfectly, everything. I got the fuel economy thing fixed too, just used 5w-40 fully synthetic oil, that did the trick. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the car in any way, that I'd pick to start with. Even then I picked, tested and tried everything.

You can get your CAT checked almost anywhere now, but I got it done from a shop opposite to national medical center, the map location is in one of the threads I created, you can see in my profile. As for the Live Data, any guy with a good enough scanner can do that for you, I got that done from a shop under Haroon Royal City, opposite continental bakery, Gulistan-e-Johar, and another guy Aleem near Gulshan Chowrangi, it's nothing fancy, anyone with a good enough scanner can do that for you.

I will in the near future get my CAT cleaned anyways for maintenance purposes and such, but I don't have any hopes to clear the CEL. Maybe there's some problem with the ECU that it gives false CEL or something, either way, it doesn't bother my anymore.

Assalam, i just bought Japanese swift 2 to 3 weeks ago, everything is working perfect i just have bad fuel average i did tuned up plugs changed when the mechanic scan my car O2 sensor code comes up i change the O2 sensor but there is no difference and there is no way of checking the o2 sensor becoz mechanic says that your CEL is bypassed i dont know what is going on and he want to go through the wiring, i sent the car to suzuki they said they dont have Japanese car parts and all so they referred me to Khan motors Phase 2. please advice what should i do becoz am so confused right now. although car is running perfectly. and 1 more thing when the mechanic scanned my car he said your o2 send is not getting low volt i saw that its was (0.2volts) he said it shud be 5 volts.

To best of my understanding of your query, your car gives an O2 sensor code P0130. But the CEL does not turn on?

yes but mechanic said your CEL is connected with oil light when oil light off CEL will goes off too.

after tuned up and plug and o2 sensor change i dont know the average right now...and as you know in swift there are 2 kind of reading 1st is live reading and second is average my live is working but average reading is like 00.00

That reading in the meter is completely unreliable my friend, check with the mileage meter, after a complete fuel fill-up. If your car gives 10km/l it's fine, if above, that's great. If it was working perfectly fine, you shouldn't have gotten your sensor changed, but after sensor change if the code P0130 goes away then good. Also, did you see the sensor he changed? Did you take a picture? and do you have your old sensor?
