Every year, PakWheels.com conducts a comprehensive automobile industry survey to ascertain the choices, habits, and preferences of the consumers. This survey also helps compare and analyze new data with the old one. The survey provides valuable insights into the Pakistani automobile industry's behaviors, preferences, and trends.
In this year’s survey, the respondents were asked to vote for the most popular and preferred automobile brands and maintenance products and services. Here are the final results!
Best Sedan
The respondents were asked which locally available brand produces the best sedan. The highest votes were given to Toyota Corolla, which is quite unsurprising. Corolla was followed by Hyundai Sonata, Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, and lastly, Changan Alsin.
Changan is a new market player and its name in the list shows that it has made its mark already!

Best SUV
The next category presented to the participants was of Best SUV. the respondents voted KIA Sportage as the Best SUV. it was followed by Toyota Land Cruiser, MG HS, Hyundai Tucson, and Toyota Fortuner. KIA is also a relatively new brand; seeing it at the top shows how fierce competition it is providing to the market’s seasoned players.

Best Hatchback
The last category of cars was Best Hatchback. The majority of the respondents voted Suzuki Swift to be the Best Hatchback in Pakistan. It was followed by Suzuki Cultus, KIA Picanto, Suzuki Alto, and Suzuki Wagon-R.
This category is undoubtedly dominated by Suzuki due to its durability and affordability.

When it comes to services related to cars, the survey discussed car finance, car insurance and car tracking services. The participants voted for the brands they deemed to be the best in the country. Here are the final results!
Car Financing
18% of the respondents said that they got their car financed. Of them, 13% voted for Meezan Bank, 11% for Bank Al-Falah, and 9% for Habib Bank Limited (HBL).
This shows that most consumers prefer Meezan Bank to finance their cars.
Car Insurance
26% of the participants said that their car was insured, and of those, 58% claimed that they preferred Islamic insurance.
EFU came out to be on top of the list with 14% votes, followed by Adamjee Insurance with 13% and TPL Insurance with 12% votes.
Car Tracking
23% of the respondents said that they had trackers in their cars. 54% of those 23% claimed that they got their trackers directly from the tracking company.
TPL Trakker turned out to be the most popular tracking company with 22% votes, followed by Falcon i-Trackers with 14% votes.
And yes, how could we forget about maintenance products! The PakWheels Automobile Industry Survey 2022 also asked the participants about their preferences regarding maintenance brands and auto parts. The results are as follows.
Popular Fuel Brand
When asked about their preferred brand of fuel, the majority voted for PSO. It was followed by Total and then Shell.
This is also reflected in the market share of these brands as PSO owns 43% of the market, followed by Total with 19% share and Shell with 17% market share.

Popular Motor Oils
ZIC dominates the market regarding motor oils, which was also reflected in the votes. The participants voted for ZIC to be their first choice, followed by Shell and then Toyota Oil.

Popular Tyre Brands
The most popular tyre brand among the participants was Yokohama, followed by Dunlop and then General tyres.

Popular Dry Batteries
42% of the respondents use dry batteries overall and voted Daewoo to be the best Dry Battery brand. Daewoo was followed by AGS and Osaka.

Popular Fluid Batteries
41% of respondents claimed that they use fluid batteries overall. This list was topped by AGS, Exide, and Osaka.

Popular Maintenance-free Batteries
15% of respondents said they used maintenance-free batteries and voted Daewoo to be their first preference. Daewoo was followed by AGS and then Osaka!

This comprehensive survey shows how different brands dominate the market in different categories. It also helps analyze consumer behavior and preferences when it comes to buying a new car or choosing a maintenance product.
