Engine job completed today. I will give my feedback in the coming days. As of now, all i can say is that its pretty silent.

Initial Observations after driving 100km without AC:

Having owned a 2016/20 vitz with 1kr, i can easily say that this new engine feels the same in terms of power and sound. One things thats better is that since it has a 4 speed Auto, the engine noise isn't as loud as that of my vitz.
Average is great, without Ac and with light throttle cruising, its providing me with 18-19 km/l which i guess should increase with time.
I can vouch that the vibrations after the rebuild are similar to that of my vitz i.e very minimal to none.

Overall, i am very happy today. Will update the thread again once i start driving it with AC and on highway.

thats' very relieving.

am sure
- thermostat valve is in system
- fans are working automatic
- coolant is in system

please do update thread on & off from 29 07 2021 engine work upto next oil change.

Yep, overall 55k was spent on:

Replacing thermostat valve
Cat cleaning via scraping a tiny bit of top layer.
Replacing left side foundation.
Replacing throttle.
Replacing Fuel pump.
Radiator cleaning.
Injectors Serviced.

All of the above costed 20k

Engine rebuild with new oil and filters costed 35k (This doesn't include new pistons since we reused pistons which were put there by previous mechanic)
1. Bore was set to 0.05
2. New rings were added.
3. Valve adjustment was done.
4. New crank bearings were added.
5. 0w20 was used by Aisin.
6. Resurfacing of the head and cylinder block was done.
7. Resurfacing of the crank related stuff was done.

Coolant isn't added yet since Irshad wanted to make sure there are no leaks. Will be added on my next visit. I've already provided him with Toyota long life coolant.

Ok, having driven the car at night with ac, headlights on and in gear i.e with full electric and mechanical load, i am happy to report that there were no issues like rough idling, throttle response etc. Engine feels like new, even better than when i bought it with 98k km on the ODO. Though theres one issue which i've noticed, which doesn't seem like related to engine. Theres a noise coming from the left front side whenever car gets into bumps or rough roads. Dhag Dhag kind of noise, which feels to me like suspension issue. Can anyone tell me if there are new suspension parts available for passo? i'm tired of kabuli parts which don't work for more than 2-3 months!

you can call 0300 2116069 is Afzaal the suspension / steering guy. He is been tested by many PW members over years and negligible complaints. He is located in lines area call & check for his work schedule during lock down.

I changed my passo front shocks with new shocks and other suspension parts of brand 555. These are much better than kabuli shocks. You can check its availability and price in lahore.

Yes brother. Have been driving it for 4 days, have already covered 250km and yet haven't come across any issues ALHAMDULILLAH. The only thing i feel is that the engine needs breaking in which i am focusing on by driving it with a light foot. I feel so because the engine feels a bit heavy at times (Not choked nor sluggish, Just like theres a bit resistance which feels more like new components getting used to each other).
