For platelets donation, you're hooked up to a machine which removes the platelets and returns the rest of the blood to your body. This is known as apheresis.
You need to ensure that they've this machinery in the blood bank.
Plus also bear in mind that unless the piping and all isn't replaced in the machine, you could also be susceptible to certain dangerous infections.
My advice: keep it simple, donate blood after 3 months. Ask the blood bank to process it themself without returning the blood.
It's best not to take a chance in Pakistan at least where there isn't proper check and control. I am not sure if they even dispose off the blood contaminated pipings after every donation. I think they just sterilise the equipment and keep reusing it again. However you can confirm this with some insider in the blood bank
Convince your friends to also donate blood the safe way rather than you donating blood more often.
2 - 3 months is the standard time which is recommended between blood donations.
Your blood has separate components, such as:
Plasma- takes a day or two to replenish
Red cells- 4-6 weeks to replenish
So that's why a minimum of 8 weeks are required between blood donations.
Plus I hope you take the proper precautions.. Drink plenty of water after donating blood, eat iron rich foods and if you feel light headed after a donation, don't drive on your own that day nor stand for prolonged hours.
