Rebuilding TRIUMPH HERALD 63 "ORIGINAL CONVERTIBLE" for my son (Spitfire)

Head of sticking bolt removed by welding torch....and now rear body is ready to be picked up from the frame/chassis....

One more hurdle.....Hand brake cable is attached between body and frame.....It has to be removed ....

Still struggling with the hand brake cable.....My son is also monitoring the whole situation....

Ultimately successful in detaching hand brake cable ......and rear part of the body being removed...

Frame/Chassis After removing rear body looks something like this.....My son also inspecting ....what is being done with his car....

Have a look at rear suspension ......unique design of these cars ....Transverse leaf spring ,fixed final drive with swing axles ,independent rear suspension....
This system has its limitations .....like excessive positive camber during hard cornering and less traction due to inner wheel tuck up .......going for extreme positive cambering ......
But for normal driving.......it is fine....

Some close ups of floor pans ....The whole base is very weak with cracks and splits....a demo of marvelous repair can also be seen :D....
Base of B post pillar is also in bad shape....

The right side story is also not very different from left side......

Got hold of these special hammers....By chance I came across this pair of hammers.....some unusual stuff ....but ideal for some unusual work.......A rare thing to find here...
So I presented these hammers to Ustaad Zahid....

Another view .....some "CHALOO" previous repair .....you can see a repair patch on outer left side .....This is very vital place because this is attaching point of body with the frame and a very solid clamp is attached underneath at this point....but metal at the top was gone and some one just welded this patch over it..
So the clamp was just lying below bolted with chassis and had no connection with body...
the strength of This type of setup (separate body and chassis) depends upon the anchor points ....if they are weak....a lot of body shake/rattle and noises are experienced when driving the car.....
