I agree with the first part of your post. That is why I did it this early, as I didn't want a truckload of gunk loosened up and getting stuck downstream. Still, was really apprehensive, that's why I said it's not advisable. Thought long and hard because it's the riskiest thing I'll ever do with the Turbo. But I'd rather have deposits downstream than upstream.
Hate the fact that these newer Honda engines have intakes out the back. The catcon and TD03 turbo are right out front and can be accessed easily for cleaning. The turbine on this turbo is really small, and the pathway could easily get clogged up. Was also worried about O2. When I did this in the Accord the check engine light was flashing, but no light in the Turbo.
It's highly inadvisable, correct, but you know I love punga and now that Turbo is sufficiently old (1.5 years) time to do some exploring
