Lol what? No major car manufacturers in the UK? Ever seen Honda's and Toyota's being imported from the UK. A simple search on Google would easily displace your theory of developed countries not bothering with manufacturing vehicles. Car manufacturers are well alive and kicking in the UK. And there's this thing called demand. To put it quite simply, most pakistanis are too poor to afford a vehicle. Therefore, not many are made. The economy of a third world country. Doesn't mean that they pack up and leave though. They (the assemblers) are only catering to local demands. Pakistan has about 0.11 cars per 1000 capita.

Big no. Cars are expensive to buy all around the world. It's the koreans who sell cheaper, lower quality cars. A new corolla can go up to 26 k (sticker price) dollars in the US. Actually, that's competitive pricing. In europe, japanese cars are expensive, compared to european provenance manufacturers.

I had owned a Peugeot 308 when I was in Jordan for few years. It was a good car.

Certainly better than my recent Yaris with tilted steering, wobbly wheels, squinty headlights and leaking battery with corroded terminals fresh from the factory.

I have personally driven both. Local Indus Toyota's are not better. That is for sure.

I still have Hilux 2015 with me. Indus forgot to install rear differential breather. I noticed it under first 100 kms. Otherwise it would have been toast.

Such blunders don't happen anywhere in the world except by Indus/Atlas.

Toyota vehicles are definitely better engineered. They are more reliable as well as durable. This is the reason why they are sold more than any other brand all over the world.

But don't mix it with "quality control of Indus Motors."

My Toyota Yaris manual is mentioning some Indian Standard. They can't even proof read a simple owners manual.
