What is the function of charcoal canister?
Also I saw many pictures of engine bays of different cars on OLX & Pakwheels etc, but none had this charcoal canister in the engine bay.

Regarding intake manifold from 1NZ-FE, can anyone let me know if it is compatible with 2NZ-FE or do I need to change it?

It store the vapors from fuel tank and provide on demand by ecu.
Check if your engine being swapped as well. Read the engine name on block.

The vapor in the fuel tank is wasted, EVAP is an attempt to save it, charcoal canister stores the vapor.

This vapor is later used as fuel in the engine.

as suggested above, can u plz check if the engine is swapped or not? u can check it by knowing the engine number stamped on the block, if its 2nzfe then original.

other way is to tally the engine number with book if its same as original number printed in book then its 2nzfe.

the intake mani is same for inz n 2nz

Comparing to my corolla and cultus, it somewhere close to my corolla SE. I get wibes driving it from showroom.

its like a code, which need to be entered in the torque app.

its like identification of engine, with its help the application can identify the engine and successfully communicate with ECU to get required data
