Hop off at Raikot bridge. You will find jeeps that will take you to Tatu village. On jeep, its a 1 hour steep climb in hot and barren mountains. This should not be tried on foot after sunrise.
From Tatu to Fairy Meadows you have to trek for 3 hours+. The route is green and continuously climbing.
From Fairy Meadows to Beyal camp, is a gentle flat walk of an hour.
From there, you should try Nanga Parbat base camp. I will advise you to hire a guide for base camp as trek will involve walk on glacier.
A word of caution. Between Raikot Bridge to Fairy Meadows, you may see guys negotiating for tents and camping sites. Don't listen to them; decide your place when you are at the meadows. Remember if you will say "yes", later you will not be allowed to say "no" even though you will be 20 guys. I hope you understand what I am saying.
I remember once I was in Beyal camp when a German girl was raped by a local at the base camp. Interestingly all the locals from Beyal camp to Riakot bridge had one statement, "there is a monster "birmindoo" who lives on the slopes of Nanga Parbat; it loves to rape and the German girl is raped by birmindoo not by a human being"(A).
