The exterior of the 1st Generation Audi A5 features a familiar design language. The front end houses sleek narrow side swept LED headlights, a large hexagon grille embossed with a chrome Audi logo and a rectangular air intake with dual standard circular fog lights. The rear end houses sleek narrow trapezium styled taillights with tube inserts and dual sports exhaust tips. The 5-door liftback features next to identical styling to the 2-door coupe but features a slightly longer body to accommodate the rear doors and a sloping roofline to accommodate the rear liftback. The RS5 and S5 variants feature slightly more aggressive design languages. The front ends houses larger air intakes with a front splitter and Quattro badging while the rear end houses dual exhaust outlets and a rear diffuser. The facelift variant featured a series of cosmetic upgrades such as new full LED headlights with incorporated daytime running lights, a chrome mesh grille and larger intakes. Options include a choice between 2 rims, dual exhaust and a spoiler. The overall exterior of the 1st Generation Audi A5 features a fairly unique and distinctive design language that can stand out amongst its rivals.
