The 5th Generation Honda Civic was introduced in 1992. The 5th Generation Honda Civic featured a new more curvy and angular design language ditching the boxy design and shape of the previous 4th Generation Civic. The 5th Generation Honda Civic is available in 2 variants EX and EL. The 5th Generation Honda Civic lasted in production for four years. The Honda Civic was available to purchase during the years 1992, 1993, 1994 and the year 1995. During the year of introduction the Honda Civic 5th Generation won car of the year in 1991 in both Europe and Japan. The Honda Civic 1992 also featured a revised suspensions setup that allowed for a more forgiving and comfortable ride. The price of the Honda Civic 1992 was fairly competitive when compared with other models of the same class available in the local market.

The exterior of the 5th Generation Honda Civic features a unique design language. The front end houses sleek narrow trapezium shaped side swept headlights and dual air intakes. The rear end houses narrow angular trapezium shaped side swept taillights and an outward sticking bumper. The overall exterior of 5th Generation Honda Civic features subtle, elegant styling cues with a slightly restrained design language. All variants of the Honda Civic feature identical styling in every aspect. The overall exterior of the Honda Civic 5th Generation features a fairly unique and distinctive design language that allowed it to stand out amongst its rivals especially from the Japanese market.
