Honda’s Clarity lineup is a trio of vehicles: Fuel Cell Vehicle, Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). The first generation Fuel Cell Honda Clarity was introduced in 2017. A year later, plug-in-hybrid and battery electric Honda Clarity models debuted in 2018. In Pakistan, only the Plug-In Hybrid Honda Clarity is imported from Japan.

In 2020, Honda discontinued the BEV model of Clarity. There are rumours about Honda discontinuing the rest of the Clarity lineup by the end of 2021. Till then, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is the best bet.

Exterior

Honda Clarity has traditional styling with a small front grille and L-shaped Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). There is a solid bar that runs across the front face and intersects the LED headlights. The rear profile has the same solid bar that partially covers the arches. There’s a decklid spoiler, a power trunk lid, and a shark fin antenna.

Interior

The interior of Honda Clarity is one of the things that instantly stand out. The cabin feels modern and stylish. There is enough space around the cabin for all passengers and plenty of features to keep them all comfortable and happy. Premium seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, 8” touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity, and eight speakers make it a value to money sedan. 

Engine

Honda Clarity plug-in hybrid uses two electric motors, a four-cylinder 1.5-liter engine, and a 17 kWh lithium-ion battery pack to produce 212 horsepower. The car comes with continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Mileage

The combined range of seven gallons of gas and fully-charged electric battery is 340 miles (547 kilometers approx.).

Competitors

In Pakistani auto market, Toyota Prius is an imported hybrid sedan other than Honda Clarity. Hyundai Ioniq is another available local option.

Specifications

The hybrid powertrain produces 212 hp_@_5500 rpm and 99 Nm of torque_@_5000 rpm.
