The 2nd Generation Honda CR-V was introduced in 2002. The 2ndGeneration CR-V is a front engine four wheel drive SUV. The 2nd Generation CR-V is available in 3 variants LX, EX and SE. The 2nd Generation Honda CR-V featured an updated design language and larger exterior dimensions compared to the first generation Honda CR-V.  The Honda CR-V 2nd Generation received a facelift in 2005 that introduced a series of minor cosmetic revision. The 2nd Generation Honda CR-V lasted in production for 5 years, the Honda CR-V was available to purchase in the years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and the year 2006. The 2nd Generation Honda CR-V features a familiar Honda design language. The front end houses trapezium styled upswept headlights, a trapezium grille with triple chrome accents, a trapezium air intake and rectangular styled fog lights. The rear end houses stacked top mounted vertical side swept taillights, the spare wheel and a standard case outward opening door. The facelift variant of the Honda CR-V featured a series of cosmetic changes. The front end houses new larger upswept trapezium design headlights with clear indicators, a new trapezium styled grille with dual chrome accents and circular fog lights. The rear end houses clear taillights and a new rear bumper along with brand new 16-inch wheels. The overall exterior of the 2nd Generation Honda CR-V features a familiar Honda design language that is restrained and minimalistic.

The 2nd Generation Honda CR-V features the use of gray plastic trim pieces. The front and rear seats are covered in fabric. Standard features on the LX include power door mirrors, keyless entry, cruise control, automatic climate control and 5-speaker stereo audio system. Features on the higher end EX-includes a multifunction steering wheel, outside temperature display, front fog lights and allow wheels. Features on the highest end SE Variant include the 8-speaker stereo audio system as standard, leather steering wheel, leather shift knob and leather upholstery as standard, reversing camera as standard, heated door mirrors and a power moonroof as standard. Options include heated door mirrors, trailer hitch receiver, power moonroof, auto-dimming rearview mirror, 8-speaker stereo audio system, reversing camera, security system, satellite navigation, and leather steering wheel. The overall interior of the 2nd Generation Honda CR-V features a decent amount of interior space in both the front and rear for a compact SUV of its exterior dimensions. It also offers a decent amount of comfort and refinement.
