Toyota Supra is not just a sports car; it's a legend. This car has come a long way from its first generation that debuted in 1979. Currently, the car is in its 5th generation that came out in 2020 with the code name A90. Toyota Supra 2020 is a stellar car, also known as the Mark 5 or Mk5. However, it was the 4th generation model that made Supra a hit. That one was called the Mark 4, Mk4, and A80.

The A80 model made its global debut in 1993 and remained a hot-seller for 10 years. It's 3.0-liter 2JZ-GTE straight-six engine could make enormous power (225 bhp) even with the internals untouched. It was available with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Later, the company added two turbos to the 3.0-liter engine ramping up the power to an additional 100 hp. The turbocharged Mk4 models came with 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearboxes.

Toyota Supra Mk4 not only enjoyed tons of success in many international markets, but also achieved legendary status in car imports. Part of this success was because of its starring role in The Fast and the Furious film series. But then, it was discontinued in 2002.

In 2020, Toyota brought back Supra from the dead and introduced the 5th generation Supra in collaboration with BMW. Looks-wise, the new Supra Mk5 is nothing like the old Mk4, which plagiarized most styling cues from the legendary Ferrari F40. It's a two-door sports car with pointy-looking headlights and a striking front fascia. Mk5 is a coupe with a hardtop.

Like its predecessor, the current_year Toyota Supra is rear-wheel drive, powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 335 horsepower.

The transmission, however, is completely different from the A80. The latest A90 Supra comes with a snappy 8-speed automatic transmission with a manual shifting mode and paddle shifters.
