The 8th Generation Toyota Hilux features a brand new design language compared to the 7th Generation Toyota Hilux. The front fascia now features side swept curved headlights with daytime running lights (DRL). The front bumper features a larger trapezium shaped opening with standard circular fog lights. The rear feature the use of chrome trim pieces of the rear bumper and stacked side swept trapezium shaped taillights. The Single Cab variant feature next to identical styling compared to the Double Cab variant expect for being slightly longer to accommodate the rear doors. The overall exterior of the 8th Generation Hilux gives off a very muscular and sportier vibe that allows it to differentiate itself from its rivals.

The interior of the 8th Generation Toyota Hilux features a more modern and premium design compared to the 7th Generation Hilux. The seats are covered in standard black fabric. The cabin features the use of plastic trim pieces. Standard features on the car include central locking, air conditioning, electric windows with jam protection, twin 12V power ports and a 4-speaker stereo system with aux and USB input. Options on the car include climate control, 4-inch multi-information display with satellite navigation, leather upholstery, power driver seat and chrome accents. The overall interior of the 8th Generation Hilux is reasonably spacious, practical and considerably more premium compared to the 7th Generation Hilux.
